I can PROBABLY suggest this since iris isn't out yet. So. For those of you who haven't seen yet, since it's very new info, these are the fails Iris throws: image description: iris passes itself, green, emerald, blue, pink, and tyrian, as of april 5th on the wiki Iris is really pretty and I love it, except it has two fails that don't match its color scheme: Pink and Tyrian. Since Iris is a desaturated green, brown, and purple eye color I don't really understand this choice, especially since Maroon has Pink and Tyrian too in the same order. Anyway, I colorpicked Iris, every single eye type that Iris fails to, and then the additions of Olive and Hazel. I picked those two eyes as one replacement of a common color and one replacement of a special oasis color in more matching hues? IDK. As shown, the greens all match excellently. Blue matches decently well, as when the purple and green blend into eachother on the lineless there's a soft blueish in-between, so it's nice for some variety. However, Pink and Tyrian visibly don't match the color cloud at all, to the point where I'm not sure they're intended as fails. Next, I laid out the gradient of Iris's colors with all of its fails compared on top of it (open in a new tab for clarity): Olive and Hazel are written in red as they're not its actual fails, and instead colors I added to compare as better fail choices. I also numbered the colors in red to show which comparison is which. While all the colors even including Blue blend into each other nicely, these two seem to stick out when actually lined up next to Iris- ESPECIALLY pink, that definitely shouldn't be there at all: It doesn't make sense that these colors are chosen to add variety to its fails. When most other eye colors with this low level of saturation (e.g. Sage, Starshine, Sunburst, Jade, even Draconid) and a minimal gradient are made, the fails stick to a small or minimal color palette that matches the eye as well as possible. With Pink and Tyrian, Iris breaks this format- and it doesn't seem like it was done to draw people more to Iris, since Pink is definitely one of the least popular fails ingame? Almost everyone who dislikes the eye color Dawn says that it's because of the fail colors it throws, so these two fails being selected for Iris seems like a bad choice DFSHJDSFHJFDSHJFDS. The people who are going to breed Iris (me :P) are drawn to it because of the colors it already has, and probably already like soft greens and browns. Anyway, yeah, hope that that makes sense. TL;DR, replace Pink and Tyrian with Olive and Hazel respectively. Or optionally, here are other fails that also match its color palette well, but I didn't mockup just to save time: -Starshine (!!!) -Sunburst -Brown -Paradise (!!!) -Lavender (probably not due to oasis contact limitations :c) -Sage And that's all. Yeah, that's just some thoughts. Thank you for reading. Edit: Please explain why if you don't support ^^ |

I was going more by basic mixing paint to make different colours, if purple's there, it doesn't seem like too much of a stretch to have gotten the red and pink from that - but then again, it seems like it was more likely to be because they only allow purple eyes to be from contacts and not as a bred trait. Also, Lavender drops Red and Pink. 0 players like this post! Like? |

^ Yeah, since they for some reason locked purple eyes from passing I'm assuming Red and Pink were chosen as lavender's fails as... placeholders, I guess. With how green Iris is, I'd say it shouldn't need placeholders for purple, even though it makes good sense for Lavender. I wish purple eyes had justice too but that's for a different suggestion XD 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 08/04/20 @ 08:25:17 by the serval spots ππΌ (#98320) |

Yeah, I agree with you on that... be nice if there was a super rare only breedable purple eye colour... I mean, like mutie rarity with no ability to increase the chance of breeding it -that way, they can keep purple eyes as rare while also having the ability of it being passed down in a likely very low chance of it passing on. 0 players like this post!
