Hello there everyone! I always liked writing stories, and still do, however the problem with me is that I always loose inspiration and abandon whatever I'm working on. I have many stories on other sites that I haven't updated in years, and want to continue them, but it is very hard to do so when I'm not motivated. So, I wanted to start off small and create mini stories for some of my lions and lionesses. The problem with this is that I have no idea how to start and what I should put down. I am very imaginative, however new ideas always appear in my head at the climax, and I have no idea how to get to there. Any tips for getting motivated, how to create little pieces of lore for both my pride and lions, as well as how to start? Any tips you can give me is always appreciated!

Oh man I have the same problem! I totally get just wanting to write small pieces at a time.

This is my side account, which I'm working on, but on my main (https://www.lioden.com/territory.php?id=52089) I basically started with just giving each lion a bio. Just a few sentences in the little bio box at the bottom of their pages. I'll do, like, short moments or single-sentence blurbs about the relationships between certain lions, talk about their personalities, major events in their lives, their family, if the decor they're wearing is special, etc. It helps me flesh out characters and get a solid grasp on what I might have to work with. So this is what I have on my Queen:

- - -

Queen Maji is the daughter of Shika and an outside male, and is sister to Jua. She was crowned alongside Alhaji on 11/12/19.

Maji is a strong-willed free spirit, and despite her admiration for her King and mate, she doesn't fancy the idea of being tied down or dealing with the traditions associated with being a ruler. She prefers to act for herself and interact with her pride as though her royal title doesn't exist, and she has no desire to be pampered because of her status. Her favorite pastimes are hunting and baoball.

On 1/3/20, a hunting accident resulted in the Queen being blinded in one eye. King Alhaji certainly panicked more than Maji did, as the iron-willed lioness insisted that this minor setback would not keep her from her normal routine - namely hunting, patrolling, and ruling. Still fretting over her safety, Alhaji insisted that she at least recruit a companion to help keep an eye out for unexpected dangers while out by herself, and given his own love of feathery companions, his solution was obvious. The Queen now travels with the pigeon Mlinzi, who helps Maji keep an eye on her blind spot.

- - -

I also like to do a paragraph or so description on the main den page, again, to get a feel for maybe the setting I might use. And I always find putting bits of flavor text in the cave descriptions is really fun. So yeah, just little bits at a time. Right now, while I'm working on a larger piece of lore/history, I have a lioness designated as "Lore Keeper", and I compile pride lore in her bio as well, copying/pasting that lore in my journal too, just in case.

tldr: I would recommend starting with short bios for your lions/characters, a brief setting description, and basic pride overview! Then build up to snippets of story from there. I hope this helps!

For me, it helps to only have one or two projects you're working on at a time. with to many it's kind of overwhelming/distracting, and takes longer to finish them, which can get discouraging. I try to finish mine within a few days, because otherwise it takes to long and sometimes I lose motivation. Another good tip for staying motivated is to perhaps get in a routine, or set some time aside every day, instead of just writing when you get bored. I've done that for a while now with my writing, and eventually even set up a writing shop to commission art for other players. It helps grow my skills and I enjoy doing it

When thinking of lore, I usually try to set a theme first, then work off of that. Appearance details and mutations are usually really helpful for me, and I often give lions ranks and base the entire description off of that.

I know it’s very late but if you have trouble writing, I recommend using: https://perchance.org/ai-story-generator
I used it for some of mine
