Ok, so I was designing a lion in the wardrobe and noticed something. I know I can't have been the only one who's run into this issue.

Now, dynamic backgrounds are amazing, but they also have the potential to really limit decors that one may use.

Let's take a look at another dynamic with the same two girls, shall we?

You see where I'm going with all of this. The examples I used were pretty drastic, but my point stands with the subtle stuff too. We can decorate accordingly with backgrounds that remain as a day or night setting, but not so much so with dynamic backgrounds. Maybe there's just one decor that ties an entire lion together and looks amazing during one setting, but it completely clashes during the opposite? Why pretend the decor isn't there half the time, or forego entirely when there could be a fix?


The fix
Now this is by no means a suggestion to recolor certain decors for lighting, make certain decors dynamic when they could be universal, or a copy suggestion of the already present 'Lock dynamic backgrounds'.

My suggestion? Enable a set display time for decors on dynamic backgrounds.

Perhaps it could look something like this?


Both would be selected as a default to avoid the tediousness of manually setting tons of decors for those who enjoy their lions heavily decorated. Simply untick whichever box, hit update, and bam! You can have your moonlight, sun, fog, etc. without ruining the scene when the time changes over. Alternatively, you could give your lion an entirely different look for the two different times, and make great use of that dynamic aspect!


TL;DR: Allow users to limit decors to a certain time (day or night) when using a dynamic background.

If you don't support this, please say why. I'm not too savvy when it comes to coding, but I wouldn't think this to be impossible. It would obviously take a backseat to more important matters, but why not add it to the docket?
