This is kind of late, but I recommend Mercedes Lackey's books. My bf would also like to recommend Anita Blake, though those are... intense. Mercedes Lackey's are more high fantasy, though I think she writes other genres as well. I used to watch Dr.Who but mostly stopped after the 11th Doctor. Honestly, I really strongly dislike 11 and just couldn't get through his segment of the series. Really into Star Trek, though, even though I don't have access to Discovery or Picard. I generally liked sci-fi more than high fantasy, but lately I'm on more of a fantasy kick. And I get the stud request pain. XD ![]() |

Oh @witch maybe you'd like the Gilded Cage trilogy by Vic James! This is the description from the back of the book: NOT ALL ARE FREE. NOT ALL ARE EQUAL. NOT ALL WILL BE SAVED. Our world belongs to the Equals - aristocrats with magical gifts - and all commoners must serve them for ten years. But behind the gates of England's grandest estate lies a power that could break the world. A girl thirsts for love and knowledge. Abi is a servant to England's most powerful family, but her spirit is free. So when she falls for one of their noble-born sons, Abi faces a terrible choice. Uncovering the family's secrets might win her liberty - but will her heart pay the price? A boy dreams of revolution. Abi's brother, Luke, is enslaved in a brutal factory town. Far from his family and cruelly oppressed, he makes friends whose ideals could cost him everything. Now Luke has discovered there may be a power even greater than magic: revolution. And an aristocrat will remake the world with his dark gifts. He is a shadow in the glittering world of the Equals, with mysterious powers no one else understands. But will he liberate - or destroy? ![]() |

@babycakes She's pretty prolific. I think I read some of her books a long time ago, but I've recently found a different series by her and I really recommend it. The trilogy I'm reading is part of the Heralds of Valdemar series but there's a lot of those. Also, you may like Faerie Wars (I forget the author) and this last one isn't a series but "The Eyes of the Dragon" is pretty good. I don't read too much romantic fantasy, Magic's Pawn (first book of The Last Herald Mage trilogy, from the Heralds of Valdemar series) gets a bit romantic. but also very dark, so not sure how romance that is. The Anita Blake stuff is more romance, I think, I've just heard enough to know that's... a different level of stuff. I haven't read it myself. I'd say Interview with the Vampire and some other Anne Rice stuff may also be something you'd like, though that's very vampire fiction more so than fantasy. I may or may not look into Gilded Cage. ![]() |

I started reading Ben Hale books. I love them so far. I started with the last series The White Mage. But I am going to go back and read the others in order. I hope he writes more because I love them. ![]() |

I got a somewhat potato primal fangs on my main, and one cub with a few good marks I may or may not keep, but not really anything else today. More due tomorrow, though, so hopefully something good then. I might look into the White Mage series. ![]() |
