It kinda seems common sense to me, but I'd love to be able to edit raffle bios. For example, I have a raffle going at the moment (here) And I have about 2000 tickets in just chaos scales. I only needed 100 and I'm not sure what to do with the rest of them. They're going to take a long time to sell if they sell at all. So I'm going to be stuck with at least 1900 chaos scales that mean absolutely nothing to me and don't let me reach my goal. Additionally, it says in the bio that I would end early at 1000 tickets and I can't do so because I have so many chaos scales and haven't met my goal with the other items. So I look like a liar. I would love to be able to edit the bio to add "Please no more chaos scales!" so that people will stop entering them (or at least not so much). While I've been saying so in chat along with my ad, I started saying that when it was only around 1000 tickets and they've doubled in 24 hours, especially when I'm not advertising. EDIT // It was pointed out to me that this could be used to abuse the system. In that case, it could be made as such where you could only add on to the existing bio OR mods would be able to see what the original bio was. Disgusting (#44125) had an idea, (Link) "I feel like you should be able to have an option to switch off things that others can pay with once you’ve met your goal with that specific thing, or if it gets too overwhelmingly high. Like the square for it goes grey meaning that they can no longer offer that for the raffle because there’s already too many! Maybe the person that sets it up can set a certain amount that can be put into the raffle, so once it reaches that number it shuts that one thing off so it can no longer be an acceptable currency for it for when the person is offline and cant turn it off themselves." Regardless, the raffle system needs a little bit of a change. A revamp. It's outdated and the way that they're conducted is difficult and is very annoying. |

No Support; 1) If players can change bio descriptions for raffles, they could easily scam other players. I don't see how the argument of "Regardless, people could always raffle them off in forums like they already do. Which has just as much of a scam chance as this type of raffle does (if not more!) since you can edit bios 100% on there and even delete the topic." makes any sense. You don't simply delete posts- you flag them for deletion. It's up to the moderators whether or not the topic actually gets deleted, which I'm pretty sure means they check to make sure the raffle or whatever was flagged runs it's full course and any transactions that were agreed upon have been made. 2) I don't think it's fair to make it the player's responsibility to make sure they don't get scammed. I'm sure that I'm not the only one who doesn't obsessively check to see what the raffles say exactly each time I load up a page I've already read once. If I see a raffle claim to be for a Clean Dwarf or something, I'm not going to be constantly checking back each day to make sure it still says that. Even if I do see it has changed, I would have to go as far as reporting the raffle to the Modbox and remembering all the information about the raffle. Even if there was a "previous bio" feature or whatever where the mods would be told what was previously posted there- do you really think that mods would just randomly check raffles for stuff like that? Like I would assume they're busy enough as is x.x ![]() |

1.) Please read the "EDIT" section. I made changes to my original idea. 2.) You don't have to continually check. I'm saying if you win and don't get a clean dwarf, then you contact the mods. ![]() |

1) Please re-read what I put. I did read your "edit" section but my argument has to do with the "OR mods would be able to see what the original bio was." 2) Even if I don't win the raffle- if the host of the raffle changes the prize halfway through, I'd still be getting scammed as I had entered my items for a raffle under false pretenses. ![]() |

1.) This isn't about forum raffles, this is about actual raffles using the raffle system from Lioden. They can continue to moderate raffles on the forums as they already do. 2.) They can't, the mod would be able to see what the previous bios were... ![]() |

2) "I'm saying if you win and don't get a clean dwarf, then you contact the mods." "They can't, the mod would be able to see what the previous bios were..." If the mods were hypothetically able to see the previous bios, that doesn't change the fact that I would be entering a raffle under false pretenses and therefore getting scammed regardless of whether or not I actually win. ![]() |

If you don't win, you wouldn't win the raffled thing anyway. So what does it matter...? I'm really not understanding what you're confused about. ![]() |

What Mouse is saying, is that you have to be honest about what you're raffling, much like how you are not allowed to lie about what is inside of a goodie bag. If someone makes a raffle, saying they're raffling a clean, Gen1 Tigon, and then they try to change it by giving something else instead it IS still a scam. For example, if someone put up a raffle, and it was a DU, special based lioness raffle, of course many people would try and enter. If they then switched out the prize, to say, a buffy, they scammed many people into thinking they were offering one thing, when they were offering another. Regardless of who wins and loses, if the raffle is for a lion, or an item, by changing the prize at the last minute you not only scammed the winner, but everyone who bought tickets hoping for a chance to win whatever was advertised. ![]() |

If they were to win, the item that was originally offered would be what they would receive. End of story right there. If they were to lose, they wouldn't get anything. Similar to how our current raffle works. And I'm not saying they're switching prizes, I'm talking about the BIOS to the raffle, not the prizes. ![]() |

I don't think deleting bios should be a thing at all, to be honest. Adding stuff to the bio, sure. But not deleting. Because again, many people post a random, useless item, and the raffle bio says something along the lines of "Whoever wins the herb, gets the tigon." If they can edit that bio, then they can change it to something completely different. I get that you're now suggesting "mods would be able to see the original post", but it sounds like a lot of unnecessary hassle for no reason. Mods are busy enough as is, but to add having to check Raffles to make sure no one is scamming just seems pointless. And it seems like a lot of coding, to then have it likely be abused, and the mods having to fix things. Adding text sounds okay, but I don't see how it can be done in the original post, without also allowing the post to be edited. Maybe raffles could have a second post, where the host of the raffle can write things, but I don't think you should be allowed to delete/edit what's in your original post, so as to avoid scams and time being wasted to fix said scams. ![]() Edited on 12/08/20 @ 21:50:37 by ~Arya Stark💜Primal Lover~ (#183150) |
