I N T R O D U C T I O N

So, I noticed one day that while there a million lion roleplays, a lot of canine roleplays (I’m in two), AND a lot of Warriors roleplays (I’m in two of those as well), there are hardly any Lioden-based, literate, non-Warriors feline roleplays. I’m sorry, but the roleplays where people say that they’re literate and then proceed to write like two grammatically incorrect sentences per post are not literate. And while Discord is nice for OOC chats, it’s a pain to write literate posts on.

So, I present to you: Shadowed - a literate feline roleplay. No, it’s not Warriors. It’s not about lions. This is about feral cats trying to survive in a human-dominated world - which is about to get a whole lot scarier. This roleplay, outside of the starting plot, will be entirely up to the players. What will your cats do? What kind of daily life will they have? How will they adapt to the changing world around them? It's all up to the players.

P L O T

The feral cats of Gray City have been pretty much left to their own devices for decades. Two sizable groups of cats have risen up in that time: the Shattered Claws and the New Order. The Shattered Claws are a peaceful group, devoted mainly to healing, spirituality, and strength in numbers. By contrast, the New Order is much harsher, focused on order, loyalty to the group, and strong over weak. Outside of the Shattered and the Order, Outliers band together or fend for themselves. The order of the City is well-defined, and each cat knows their place.

That is, until the fateful day when the humans went to war.

Now, Gray City has become an active battleground, with soldiers everywhere, blocks of the city under siege, and civilians starving in the streets or hoarding food behind barricades in their homes. Caught in the crossfire, the feral cats must decide what to do. The Shattered Claws suggest banding together, but there are rumblings amongst the New Order that the cats should take advantage of the situation and take over the Shattered's territory. And of course, the Outliers are stuck in the middle, trying to avoid both groups and hold out until the humans settle down.

How will these cats, shadowed by human struggles, survive? It's up to you.

R U L E S

1. Minimum of 200 words per post. I'm obviously not requiring you to write a novel, but it should be about 2-5 paragraphs (no novel, just an essay XD). After all, this is a LITERATE roleplay. Posts should be PAST TENSE and THIRD PERSON. Please try your very hardest to use proper grammar, spelling, capitalization, and punctuation. I understand that mistakes and typos happen, but your post should be legible and easily understood.
2. Please write in English only. Kind of a given, but I have to put it out there. Names in other languages are fine, but please use the Roman alphabet only.
3. There is a literacy requirement for Shadowed. I will require a roleplay sample on your character sheet (prompts will be over there), if I feel that you do not meet the literacy requirements, I will PM you and ask for you to leave.
4. Post at least twice a week. This roleplay will be pretty chill, but I'd like for you guys to be active-ish. Let me know if you're going on hiatus/vacation/etc. and somebody will ghost your character.
5. No unnatural powers or appearances. Yes, it's a fictional city, but it's based in our world. No magic, superpowers, or purple cats will be allowed.
6. Don't use your fursona or king/queen as your character. Just don't use an existing character already, be it OC or an actual, canon character. If you name your cat Firestar I will ban you. If you name your cat after your main lion, I will ban you. Same goes for fursonas, OCs, and other canon characters. However, revamping an old OC or unused RP character is fine.
7. Be kind and respectful. The character might suck, but that's no excuse to be rude and/or hateful to a player. This also goes for respecting personal beliefs. HOWEVER, racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, or hating on one's religion will not be tolerated.
8. Keep it PG-13. Mating and heavy gore will not be tolerated and I will remove your character. Fade to black if necessary. However, characters can and probably will die.
9. Please chat only on this thread. This will serve as our OOC thread. There will be a character sheet thread for characters only, and a RP thread for roleplay posts only. Respect the thread titles!
10. TwoTHREE characters per person.
11. Ask me before creating a character that isn’t a feral cat (other feline species, pet cat, etc), or be willing to make a few minor shifts to your backstory, etc. to fit the world.
