The group had found temporary shelter for the night. The building was in a decrepit shape, only one stone wall still standing along the back. Seemingly part of an old abandoned town, the other structures were in similar or worse states. Rubble surrounded the area, strewn about and covered in layers of plant life. It was apparent that no one had lived here in at least a lustrum. The Nomads arrived late the previous evening. With night rapidly approaching, the camp had been haphazardly thrown together. A tarp of sheer fabric was hung across the wall as a makeshift ceiling in one of the corners. Underneath was many hand-made blankets, piled together to create a comfortable place to sleep for the majority of the group. Others had went off on their own to find solitary places to rest. Just outside, surrounding the entirety of the building, were several small fire pits. All of them had stayed carefully lit and fully stoked over the night. Members of the group had slept in shifts, ensuring the flames never ceased. The faint glow of eager eyes lingered ever so close to the edge of the light, taking the opportunity to creep in closer if they were ever to die down. Even with the weather a mild warm, puffs of smoke-like breath rose from the entities as they anticipated even the smallest slip up from the humanoids. It wasn't until the unclouded sky turned pink from the rising sun that the hellhounds made their exit. Their fiery eyes faded into the daytime and the surrounding area became eerily silent in their wake. The morning was serine as dew drops gathered across the ground. Large, muddy scrape marks could be seen clawed into the earth surrounding the camp. With the sun barely over the horizon, some members had already begun packing up supplies. It was apparent this place wasn't safe. They would have to keep moving. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Calida | Leader | Werewolf Location: Temporary Camp. Mentions: Open. The stoic-faced werewolf sat hunched over beside one of the numerous fires, now died down to the point of coals. Her gaze was trained on something in the distance and a far away look glimmered in her eyes. Her ailing back was firmly pressed against a pile of crumbled stone for support. In her hand she clutched a green branch, charred on the ends from being used to prod the flames over the sleepless night. Beside her were faint drawings carved into the dirt, indicating she had gotten bored at some point during the dark and taken it out on the earth. Apparently lost in thought, she barely took notice of the sun rising over the horizon. She sat passively in the stillness of the morning as the dim lighting slowly brightened to a honey-coloured glow. It wasn't until the silence was disturbed by the subdued murmurs of her group members that she stirred from her post. Calida flashed a swift glance over her shoulder as she was drawn away from her trance by the buzzing noise. She sat motionless for another moment before pulling herself off the ground in a swift movement. She raised her arms over her head, straining to stretch the soreness out of her back and limbs. After successfully regaining the feeling in her extremities, she dug her boot into the loose soil and kicked it over the coal pit she had been guarding. The last thing they needed was something catching on fire. Turning to face the ramshackle shelter, she let out a disgruntled sigh. We can't keep living like this forever, something has to give eventually. She hastily pushed the thought from her mind and trailed over to help pack up everyone's belongings. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Isaiah Lyman | Vanguard | Male | 26 | werewolf | Location: outskirts of temporary camp->camp| mentions : Calida (indirectly) open It had been clear to Isa that the group would soon be leaving behind the fallen building. He had been making his rounds since before dawn, ensuring that everything had been in place. Nothing out of the ordinary had happened throughout the night. A small heave was given as Isa did a small stretch and then a quiet yawn. I probably should start packing my things, it’s still pretty early so I should have time he thought to himself. The rustle of small chatter and feet being shifted around became more apparent as he headed towards the group’s camp where most were residing in at the moment. He didn’t have much to pack since most had stayed inside the sack of his belongings, knowing they wouldn’t stay here for more than a day. It was just for the night that they decided to stay in this worn building which was mostly debris and rubble. It reminded him of his earlier years when he traveled with his parents. It’s unwise to reminisce old memories, but it is true. what broke his thoughts had been the sight of their leader, Calida, coming towards the group. He gave a faint smile her way. He didn’t have much to report to her, since nothing really happened during the night, so he stayed silent for the meantime unless questioned by her and went back to placing his belongings in his bag. 0 players like this post! Severin | shaman | female | 27 | shapeshifter | Location: temporary camp| mentions: Calida, Thanatos Severin packed and re-packed her supplies, feeling conflicted as she always did about moving camp. On the one hand, moving from place to place was all that she had ever known. She and Natalia had never stayed in the same place twice, and after Natalia's death, she'd kept on moving until she joined the Nomads - who were, of course, nomadic. On the other hand, she thought, shoving her long hair out of her eyes, it would be nice to stop moving for once. She heard Thanatos ask where they were moving to, and watched him for a moment, vaguely puzzled. How could somebody possibly be this cheerful? She didn't know. His question was valid, though... it might be worth braving a Calida encounter to ask about. Severin picked up her bag, cradled the viola case carefully in her hands, and moved over to where Calida sat, silently looking out towards the rest of the decrepit town. "So..." began Severin, looking sideways at the werewolf leader. "Where, exactly, do you plan to take us next?" 0 players like this post! Like? |

Isaiah Lyman | Vanguard | Male | 26 | werewolf | Location: temporary camp| mentions : Rafael, Bishop, Severin, Thanatos, Calida (Indirectly) Hecate (Directly) It wasn’t long before the camp began to buzz even further with chatter. Isaiah has turned to see that most of the group’s members were now gathering closer. He noticed from the corner of his eye Rafael, who seemed to have come back from patrolling as well. He took a mental note. Nothing to report I see. He took a quick glance at Bishop who was approaching Rafael before setting his eyes back on Calida once more. Now with her was the shaman, Severin. It’s a relief to know nothing is going wrong, but everything seems a little too quiet he suspected once more turning to hear their youngest member Thanatos ask a question. It’s true, he’s sure most of the group members were thinking the same thing. What broke his thoughts once again had been someone else, their second in command, Hecate who had asked a question. He stayed silent for a few seconds, seeing that no one was answering at the moment he took his chance to reply.”Nothing out of the ordinary, so feeling decent. Thanks for asking, and yourself?” He asked casually before moving his long ginger hair to one side of his neck and gently tossing his bag around his shoulder. Roxanne | Provider | Female | 22 | Shifter | Location: temporary camp| mentions : Lorelei (indirectly) open Roxanne sat amongst the rubble of the fallen building. She had found little nothing in the wreck. Nothing of value for the group nor herself. She rolled her eyes before giving a heavy sigh. The group had been within earshot distance a few moments ago but now she only heard faint murmurs of voices. Her stuff had been packed, she knew since she didn’t take anything out during the night. So she had a bit of time on her hands to do some searching before having to go back, but had found nothing earlier to no avail. She guessed it would have been the same this time around so she didn’t bother continuing her quest on searching the debris for valuables any longer. She got up before dusting off her clothes, leaving a few faint chalk stains on the back of her pants. great. She ran her hand through the back of her hair and suddenly felt the urge to look around. Her eyes immediately landing on a running figure in the distance. They looked familiar and as they got a bit closer she noticed it had been Lorelei a fellow provider for the group. I wonder why she’s running, did something happen? she thought to herself. She decided she would head back to the group to find out more herself. 0 players like this post! Like? Calida | Leader | Werewolf Location: Temporary Camp. Mentions: Severin, Thanatos [Directly] The Group [Indirectly] She had been halfway listening to the chatter of her subordinates as she worked. The annoying sensation of hunger gnawed at her stomach and she glanced over at the few bags containing what measly food they had. The others were most likely feeling the pang as well, rations had been running thin lately. They would have to find something much more substantial soon or risk losing whatever precious energy they had. She couldn't afford that. She slung her personal satchel over her shoulder and stacked on another bag of supplies, tying it snugly around her waist. Turning around, she was finally brought out of her daze-like brooding as the youngest of the group piped up to ask where they were headed. Soon after, the group's healing aficionado had joined her side asking much the same question. "There's a lake not far from here to the north," Or at least, she hoped there was. She had studied over her father's maps before the attack but her memory of them was hazy. They were one of many things lost in her pack's haste to escape. "There were a few settlements there the last time I checked. Even if they're gone now, it's a much better place to be than here." Calida's tone was stale as she addressed the other woman, her voice trailing off as it reached the end of her sentence. Patting the dust off of her ragged pants, she let out a heavy sigh. "Right now I'm more worried about getting a move on and finding breakfast." She added with a gruff mumble, mostly aiming the statement at herself. Calida moved past the healer and into the building, reaching up to untie the lashing that had kept their temporary roof in place over night. Sunlight flooded into the space as she pulled the tarp down, hindering her vision and causing her to squint. Folding the large piece of fabric was an awkward task but she somehow managed to wrangle it into a somewhat-tidy shape before shoving it into a bag with various other blankets inside. Tossing the tote to the side, she set out to grab a few more stray items scattered about the crumbled structure. In some sort of silent motion, she gestured for the few lingering group members to come and pick up the rest of the bags. Damian | Artisan | Hybrid Location: Temporary Camp. Mentions: Calida, Open. Sitting quietly just inside the temporary shelter, Damian kept a dull eye on the bustle of the other group members. The few belongings he had were already neatly tucked away and sat at his side as if he had been ready to leave hours prior. With his knees pulled to his chest, he had his chin resting on his forearm to support his head. Fatigue oozed from the hybrid. Though his hair and clothes were quite orderly in appearance, his expression was lackluster and dark circles had formed under his eyes from the lack of sleep. The thud of objects being tossed about by the group's leader caused him to flinch every so often. Though the sound was muffled, he found it rather hard for his groggy senses to bear. Despite this he made no effort to move away and eventually rose to his feet, trailing over to help sort things into their place. At Calida's silent motion towards the bags he expelled a defeated sigh. Questioning for a moment if he should ignore the cue, he reluctantly leaned down and grabbed the strap on one of the sacks. Slowly lifting it to sit on his shoulder, the exhaustion he felt worsened the burden of the weight. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Cassius & Amadeus | Provider, Warrior | Werewolves The brothers chatted idly to one another in hushed tones, standing about and letting their attention wander from group member to group member all the while keeping their distance. As badly as Cassius would prefer to socialize than amble around aimlessly, he simply wasn't a morning person- especially after wasting all of the hours that he should've been sleeping on slinking around in the dark. He rubbed his cheek in attempt to massage some warmth back into his chilled skin, then leaned into his own palm and made some barely-coherent comment about the weather as he waited for the grogginess in his head to clear up some. 0 players like this post! Nova|| Artisan || Werewolf || Location: Temporary Camp || Open At the moment she was sticking to herself- working on making her scratched together weapons, cleaning stuff up, and of course, wondering when they would all get the chance to separate. She had been with the nomadic group for a while, and they were fine- it just was nothing like the usual way she lived. The noises of the creatures outside in the night distressed her a bit- she knew how they tended to leap and tear in groups at whomever came close. She greatly hoped that kind of fate didn't befall her lost sibling. She was tempted to shift into wolf form- it was more comfortable after all- but only after she finished up her nightly work. Just some weapon cleaning, sharpening her own works, sewing something up... nothing she was really invested in. It was just stuff she had to do for the group to be able to take her in. She had to pull her weight and work as a group and of course she couldn't go back to wandering, since of all the attacks. It really was a pain. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Damian | Artisan | Hybrid Location: Temporary Camp. Mentions: Rafael, Bishop, Open Damian physically sunk away as more people stepped over to gather up bags, clutching the one slung over his shoulder until his knuckles turned white. To any outside person it would appear he was trying to keep from being touched. The truth was he was just too tired to mentally handle any interactions, his head began to throb even thinking about it. He turned curtly and began moving towards a space less occupied, lugging the bulky item with him. The approach of two more figures caused him to pause his hasty escape, Bishop and Rafael. He didn't really have any opinions on the two despite the woman's cheerful demeanor being a comically stark contrast to his own. Immediately upon hearing her greeting, Damian's eyes squinted as if he were having to stare into the mid-day sun. 'Way too early, way too bright.' "Uh, yeah.." He replied, slight confusion rising into his usually dry tone. 'Do they.. Want something?' His somewhat doubtful gaze shifted between the two as she spoke. He wasn't too familiar with the pair and unfamiliar faces usually left him alone. Well, he wasn't familiar with anyone in the group really.. Either way, he couldn't help but trust the suspicious feeling rising in his chest. "Thank you?" He said after a moment of puzzled silence. He slowly slid the heavy bag's strap off of his shoulder, wincing as it yanked his arm with it. Reluctantly handing the pack over to Rafael, he averted his gaze as the provider questioned his tired appearance. "Who doesn't have a hard time sleeping nowadays?" An uncharacteristic laugh crept into his voice as he answered. Calida | Leader | Werewolf Location: Temporary Camp. Mentions: Cassius, The Group, Open. She stood by quietly as a few subordinates filed through to pick up bags and carry them off. "Thank you." She spoke as the brunt of the packs were gone. Though she meant the statement in earnest, it came out a bit more wilted than intended. Her gaze shifted to peer over at a provider she had spoken to. Cassius, was it? 'Damn I really need to get on top of learning their names.' She rubbed her temples and stepped closer to the missing front of the building, casting a stern leer over the faces gathered around. The sheer amount of members in the group that had come and gone was a bit overwhelming, as hard as it was for Calida to admit. 'It'll take a little time, but I'll figure it out.' "Is everyone here and accounted for?" Her voice was steady and pronounced, as to get everyone's attention. Though she hadn't even needed to ask. She could tell at a glance that a few members were missing. They had probably wondered off to explore in the early hours of the morning. That wouldn't normally bother her, but she had planned on leaving as quickly as possible. Finding safety for the group was her first priority and she would most likely have a few things to say to those who were delaying her plans. "Did any of you see where they went?" She asked after a moment. With a slightly irritated sigh, Calida brought her hand up to rest against her mouth as she awaited an answer. 0 players like this post! Like? |
