No support. Unfortunately, keeping the old site and new site layouts as toggle-able is largely impossible from a coding perspective; it would be like trying to maintain two complete and separate websites, one already failing and one new and shiny. I think there will be different skins, which should solve a lot of problems! But it will still be a learning curve, and the ability to have the site sustain itself, be able to add new features, etc will be more than worth a few weeks of getting used to a new layout imo. (:

I honestly wholly agree. I love the current style of the site. There are other games, like Chickensmoothie, that have options to switch to their classic layouts. I totally get wanting to update the site, and I think it's definitely possible to change up the logo and the look of the site while still keeping the theme and idea similar to how it currently is.

I won't stop playing Lioden if the layout changes drastically, and I do like the way the new one looks, but I personally would like it better if it kept some of the elements of the current layout. I think Wolvden's layout is alright, but I like Lioden's current one better (not including various functionality features that should totally be changed to make the game easier to navigate, and certain things work better, of course).

The main reasons I want it to stay similar to how it is now is because I very much enjoy the dark theme (it's much easier on my eyes and causes less headaches), and I like how unique and "wild" it already looks. The logo change doesn't really bother me, but I do like the idea of keeping it a little more "curvy" looking and adding some color and texture, which revival (#116435) suggested.

Only so long as they gave folks time to adjust. Keeping the old site indefinitely was never an option. Too much to try and juggle, and I have no doubt it was absolute hell for the poor devs on dA. I know firsthand how much trouble an old, broken site is to try and manage, though I've never experienced anything quite to that scale. xD

Id support this, no offence to the creaters of the website but i just feel like Lioden is unique seeing as the new design is slowly getting related to the one used on Wolvden. I feel like its slight simplicity is what makes me enjoy the site just that much

Support, the current layout of the game is one of the things that made me interested in playing, and I'm personally not a fan of the colors or the similarity to the wolvden layout.

That said, the game will eventually have to change, but It'd be nice if there was a button where you could switch layouts between the old and new one, like on wajas or chicken smoothie. The new layout (no offense to the developers) makes it look like any other online game, and again, the way it's set up now makes it stand out.
The new design is just a bit too industrial and basic for me.

Lioden currently has three separate color schemes users can choose from on the current layout, so I don't see why that wouldn't still be an option. I personally use the night theme because the greenish greys aren't as harsh on my eyes as the default orange.

Wolvden and the new design both use a lot of really sharp edges and high contrast white spaces that I feel give off this kinda intimidating void vibe. Current layout has rounded edges that seem a bit more inviting, plus the color thing I already mentioned.

I came back here because of Wolvden, I remembered I used to have an account here made around 2016 ond oh gosh, how much I wish the UI on LD would be more like on WD. Honestly, few first days were a hussle because I've kept searching for various buttons everywhere and couldn't find it.

What I would love implemented here:

Clean overview of your pride without the need to click on every member in order too see if they are hungry/have low moods etc.

more "3D" background. What I mean is on WD you have the first plan, the second plan in the background at the side of the screen etc

BETTER CROSSROADS. Ok, ok, here me out, I know we all love it, nostalgia factor and all of that, but if you're newbie or have short attention span using it is terrible. I swear I never know where to find anything, all the icons are crowded close to another and there's simply too much happening in one picture. I know it's how it used to be back in the old web games times, but it's clunky... What I love on WD is the clear buttons, I have no problem navigating them at all.

small icons in the menu, on the top of the page ("den", "crossroads", etc.) as well as inside it (icons in hoard, but maybe don't make them... so tech-y, I don't know how to describe it, but the calculator on WD throws me off every time xD). Anyway, the small icons are very helpful, at least for me, they help me to navigate better as I catch myself that I'm looking for the icon FIRST, then the caption later – maybe it's because I'm NOT a native english user it's just easier for me.

Colored bars for HP, hunger etc. even if using other mode than default. I'm using night mode right now and all my bars have the same color.

Some of the art needs revamping, and it shows. With all respect to artists and their skill, there's a clear difference between some pictures. 8 years is a long time for the artist for grow and that progress is very visible on the site. If you compare newer mutation to the basic male lion we have or even wolf on WD... the current art is top notch, truly great.

IMPORT TO THE WARDROBE BUTTON ON EVERY LION. Please. Pleasepleaseplease. I miss this button so much here. When you want to see a lion in the wardrobe you have to copy-paste theirs ID and it's so inconvienient...

What I would not want implemented here/what I like here (maybe more gameplay wise than layout wise):

RNG system. Please, for the love of lions, don't make it the same torture as it is for now on WD. Just... please. Don't touch it.

I love how I can choose patrol spots and hunting spots on the current map. It's super cute.

I have the feeling that LD is less... harsh? I don't know how to put it, the whole world seems to be more lax, funny, filled with characters, while WD is pure survival. Here I feel genuinely bad for chasing of anything (that's why I use nature reserve lol) because gameplay is so... RPG heavy? You have bunch of inside characters that you know from the past events, some inside jokes, and everything, let's face it, is more fantasy-oriented. I really hope the layout will show that as well and won't be... cold, almost analytical as on WD (which suits WD perfectly).

current logo is great and I wouldn't change it at all.

In the end, the site is 8 years old and things simply *have to* change. If we like it or not. I personally am super interested in what the future of this site will bring.

The only "problem" I have with the new layout are the "harsh and bright" colors. I love brownish colors of Lioden So if there will be option to choose brown colors of the layout instead of these bright ones - I would be totally happy :D

I also, Farkitsue, have that "survival" feeling on Wolvden. It's nice, but because I expected it. And Wolvden is totally different gameplay style for me. So it's fun :D But I love nice coziness of Lioden. I'm here barely 8 months so it's not like I have years of sentiment behind that statement. It's just nice to have a place without so much stress coralated with gameplay xd That said - I like both games

The logo could use a touch up, as well as some coding, I love the colors of lioden and all that, and the new colors of lioden would probably be straining to some users eyes. I don't enjoy wolvden too much, I guess everything looks so much more complicated than i'm used to. But ey, that's my opinion. Support.

Support. Neon colors cause me a lot of eyestrain, so I like the calming / neutral brown colors on the site. I agree with Farkitsue that there should be QoL improvements like colored bars for hunger/mood, but I can't totally agree with shifting the colors to dark black/bright orange and shrinking the text on the buttons. WD isn't bad, but it's a different site, and I'd like for LD and WD to look different too.

I’m on mobile and have no issues. Also, game layout overhauls have made me quit games I previously loved many times. I’m praying that they at least give you the option to switch between the layouts. I know they need to fix the coding, but the website layout is so appealing to me right now and Idk what I’ll do when it changes.

Seeing Lioden getting ready to change the site reminds me of what happened to DeviantArt. DA got rid of the old layout in favor of Eclipse, which was confusing and much harder to use. Even after many users voiced their dislike about the upcoming site and staged the Sound of Silence protest, DA still changed it and lost many users because of it. I no longer use DA because of it. Yes, Lioden needs to be updated - but why change the entire site? I love the layout of the game, it feels so much more nicer and natural than other sim games. The preview for the new layout is very blocky, and the fontawesome icons are just a bit too much. A few here and there works, yes, but they don't need to be used for everything. I cringe internally every time I look at a wolvden page - they're everywhere. I left that game after a few days because of the way the site layout was. It just doesn't flow the way Lioden's does.
