As much as I love the idea of being able to switch out specific colors of specific markings, it would essentially defeat the purpose of Applicators and breed only markings almost all together. And it would kill the Marking and Applicator market. Why would anyone buy and use Apps or breed for a specific marking color if they can simply change the color of an existing marking on their lion?

Examples:
1.) Say, I wanted the Windfall Maofelis marking but didn't have the applicator and don't have enough to get the App. But the lion I was going to use it on happens to have a Maofelis marking that I didn't want anyway and I happen to have an applicator that allows me to change the color of a marking to any other. Well now the Windfall Applicator isn't needed and I can just change the color and be fine. I don't have to chance my luck on using a Windfall Applicator and be saddened by the result if it happens that luck isn't on my side. It would devalue Applicators and make them useless and that isn't a good thing.

2.) Say I wanted a really rare marking. Like a breed only marking. Like a Feline marking or an Event or Raffle only marking. Say the event you wanted a marking is already over. For this, let's just choose an Event only marking - Leonid marking. Say you wanted a Leonid Smoke marking. But the event is over. But you have a lion that has a White Smoke marking. Well now all you need is that App to change the color and wella, you now have a Leonid Smoke marking. You don't need to breed any lions, you don't even need to search in the TC for a lion who might have that marking.

Hard agree with the person above, no support.

Breed only markings are supposed to be breed only.
You work for them.
If you can just change the color, what's the point?

It makes breeding for something almost pointless when you can just find a lion with the marking you want and change it to whatever color you need???

Edit: The same goes for a slot changer. Ruins breed-only. Ruins the whole point of breeding.

please stop trying to make breed only markings easy to get, theyyre supposed to be something to work for and it ruins the whole point of the game if you can just do a quick swap with an item

I honestly hadn't even considered that sort of stuff, and I thank you guys for informing me! I'm still learning about the game, and don't really know what's breed-only or applicator only, how the slot stuff works.

It sure is a lot of information hahaha, at the end of the day, I don't mind such an idea not being implemented. It was more of a passing thought.

You know, here's an idea that popped in mind regarding event and breed only markings

Why not, much like regular base applicators, just make those things unavailable? The example I used with Margay was just an example, of course, and, your argument of market flooding could have been applied to the idea of a base changer, but with the specifics that it'd be markings that aren't so hard to get, then it would be fair!

And then kablam, problem solved. People get to alter markings like, Under White 1 versus Under White 4, (of course not that but you know what I mean? Common things like that)

And the idea of a slot changer isn't so harmful, what's the harm in wanting a marking to be above another? Are there slot-specific markings that I'm just, unaware of? Because as far as I know, they don't seem so tied to certain slots.

Edit: If there is slot based markings, then, why not make it like the eye applicators, and just have it not effect the slot genetics? The same thing could have been argued about the contact lenses, but y'know..... We've got em.

Raffle markings can be slot specific. Some markings don't appear in some slots because they're released via the Raffle Lionesses in the Crossroads.
So yes, they are tied.
These are /breed only/ markings, that appear in only a certain few slots until they're released.
It's why the Raffle Lionesses are so in demand. New markings and new slot availability.

Eye applicators only include custom eyes, not breed only.

Both ideas were suggested previously and got a VERY big backlash.
Wish the admins would add them to the "rejected" list.

People above me explained perfectly why it's a bad idea, but think about one more thing: if they added a slot/color changer for just oasis markings, it probably would cost as much as the replacer we have right now.
If you don't want to work on breed-only markings, use cheaper replacements from apps. We're drowning in these anyway.
