asdfghj sorry for the rambling i'm rlly nervous, feel free to skip ahead to the important bits-

intro
okie, so i don't have any commitment at all to my projects or long-term adoptable threads, so my solution is to make a short, i guess, event-like?? adoptable thread that only lasts for maybe a few days, could be a week+ ;o;
and then after the events are over, i just... peace out lol

so anyways, here's the idea:
it's a pmd-themed thread, and you'll be rp-ing a pokémon (this is your 'starter', basically, to join in this event you'll submit a form stating what pokémon you wanna' be + some other stuff!) i'll design these starters and make them a ref sheet and once everyone gets their starter, the event starts!
over the span of a few days, there will be random events that will be posted on the thread, everyone will get the same storyline, but there will be option branches and even certain optional sidequests you can choose to do to get other kinds of pokémon and currency (which i'll explain later on what they can be used for). i think that's basically it for the main thing, but there's some other details i needa' elaborate on, which leads us to-

the deets (yes i'm stealing an internet historian joke):
> I will design only 4 pokémon for you at max throughout the duration of this event

> you cannot change your starter once you begin, however every pokémon you befriend afterwards essentially act as tickets, this is hard to explain but basically, since everyone only gets a limited amount of pokémon for this event, i think it wouldn't be fair if they got stuck with pokémon they didn't like. so for this event, you can get unlimited amounts of pokémon, however, i will only be designing 4 pokémon per user (including the starter). so for example, through the quests you do, you'll get a starly, a kabutops, a tauros, and a clefairy. say you only like the first three you get, so you will tell me to design those three, the clefairy (a.k.a the pokémon you don't want me to design) will essentially expire. of course, you can design these 'expired' pokémon yourself if you wanted to, but what i'm getting at is that i will only be designing the three that you wanted + your starter. btw you're free to use un-designed pokémon while rp-ing!

> you can 'redeem' these tickets/pokémon whenever you want (i.e if you wanted to wait until the end of the event to tell me to design the pokémon you want, you're totally free to do that ^^. alternatively, you can also redeem your pokémon immediately after you've befriended them), but once you tell me to redeem those, it cannot be changed or taken back and it will count to your max pokémon limit.

> throughout the event, you can sometimes earn a currency instead of pokémon, if you collect enough of these, at the end of the event you can spend it on customs or for specific pokémon that you may prefer over the ones you already have.

> participants will be chosen through a (FREE) raffle in maybe two days (if i can even expect enough interest for something this over-complicated XD), you will be asked to fill a short form and your username will be put on a list which i'll later on use a number generator to pick out the participants. anyone who doesn't get in will get 2 as a consolation prize ^^

some questions
> i actually wanted to do 2 starters instead of one and have the limit be 5 pokémon (because every pmd game stars a duo), but it'd obviously be extra work- so what i wanna know is wether ya'll would prefer a set starter + semi-randomized partner and have 5 pokémon in total, or just have one pokémon you can choose the species of with a total of 4 max pokémon you can collect?

> should I get a guest artist with me so I can handle more participants? I want to get as many people as i can to join in the fun, but there might be issues of unfairness or people bailing on me mid-event + i might not be able to help compensate the work and effort these artists will put into the event, so I feel bad asking any for help with such a low reward. however, if i do this alone, i could only maybe do like 3-4 people, which is abysmal. so for this one i want to know if maybe ya'll would rather i repeat this event in the future while taking in small number of participants (unlikely considering my dumb commitment problems) or wether maybe someone could help? I can pay maybe 20GB per artist to do either 4 or 8 pokémon, i'm sorry if it sounds super low for the effort expected, but the ref sheets should be pretty lax, each will only have a minimum of one coloured fullbody, that's why this event is 100% free to join! there is no payment required whatsoever for the designs either, you will walk out of this event without a single beetle out of your lion wallet lmao- anyways,
a. repeat this event or have only 4 people join in,
b. or get some artists to help? i'm really torn on this, so any feedback is welcome

final thoughts
i'm sorry if i come off as pretentious anywhere on this post, but this will be a pretty big deal for me despite how brief the event will be, so it might've gotten to my head a bit lol

i know this is super weird and complicated, it doesn't help that i suck at explaining things, so pls pls pls lmk any suggestions or questions you have! i really wanna do this one fun thing, so i want to make sure everything goes smoothly :>

either way, participants on may 9th (03:00 PST), expect a DM notification for reminders to join in the starter selections! this might last the whole day (as i design them + waits for anyone due to timezone differences), but it's pretty important that you do so on may 8th, otherwise, you might miss some stuff! after that, we're on our way
