These alien enemies are, well, alien, and don't always react how you might think. So here's a guide to battling them!

I'll be focusing on telling you what they can do and strategies that worked for me battling them. This is all data from after they said they made things easier.

7/10/22 update: The official Wiki has updated their guide so I'm putting that info under the research everyone's done.

7/2/23 update: They've removed the Large classification and I know more about how these enemies work so I'm condensing the guide. Aside from the Radioactive Snake, all enemies of the same suffix act pretty much the same.

7/3/22 update: Stun is gone!

Regular Enemies

Beasts and Beings
(Gamma Ray Beast, Gamma Ray Being, Starburst Being)
gammaraybeast.png
Abilities: None (used to be able to grab/pound)
Strategy: Charge->Rest->Charge->Grab->Pound/Claw/Kick

Burstlings and Dustlings
(Cluster Dustling, Gamma Burstling, Magnetar Burstling, Neutron Burstling, Solar Dustling, Starburst Dustling)
neutronburstling.png
Abilities: Can Grab and Strangle. Weak to Roar.
Strategy: Roar. If it attacks you through it, Charge->Rest->Charge->Swipe until it Grabs you->Pound is what I do.

Drakes, Drakelings, and Windssrahs
(Cluster Drakeling, Gamma Drake, Interstellar Drake, Neutron Drakeling, Pulsar Drake, Pulsar Windssrah, Starburst Drake, Starburst Windssrah, Stellar Drake, Stellar Drakeling, Stellar Windssrah)
starburstdrake.png
Abilities: Can Bite if not Grappled
Strategy: Charge->Rest->Charge->Grab->Pound/Claw/Kick (I go with Pound usually)

Serpents and Interstellar Snakes
cometserpent.png
(Comet Serpent, Interstellar Snake, Prismatic Serpent, Radioactive Serpent, Stellar Serpent)
Abilities: Can Grab and Strangle.
Strategy: Charge->Rest->Charge->Rest->Swipe. If they grab you, Strangle to either stun them and do a lot of damage or make them let go.

Radioactive Snake
(Radioactive Snake)(This enemy works uniquely)
radioactivesnake.png
Abilities: Bites for 40+ damage if not Grabbed. Extremely resistant to Grab and Pounce. Can Grab and Strangle.
Strategy: Hope it doesn't kill you. I usually do my Charge->Rest->Charge->Grab->Pound/Kick strategy, but if it attacks me between Charges I just try to Grab. It's very resistant but between you trying and it having a chance to grab you, it usually happens. It's also very deadly.

Wyrms
(Pulsar Wyrm, Stellar Wyrm)
pulsarwyrm.png
Abilities: No special abilities (used to Charge but no longer does)
Strategy: Charge->Rest->Charge->Grab->Pound/Kick

Wyverns
(Comet Wyvern, Interstellar Wyvern, Prismatic Wyvern, Pulsar Wyvern)
interstellarwyvern.png
Abilities: Weak to Claw.
Strategy: Charge->Grab->Claw. Claw does A LOT to them so these are the easiest opponents, I've found.

Bosses
All bosses work the same way.
(Galactic Drakontos, Interstellar Drakontos, Prismatic Dragon, Prismatic Drakaiva, Pulsar Dragon, Solar Drakaiva, Starburst Dragon, Stellar Drakaiva)
galacticdrakontos.png
Abilities: Immune to Roar. Immune to Trample. Attacks do more damage.
Strategy: Charge->Rest->Charge->Grab->Pound and hope it works. These guys are very strong.

I can confirm that clawing the Comet Wyvern does the job!

Grabbing and Kicking the Prismatic Dragon seemed to work for me.

For Prismatic Dragon I used it basically this: trample - rest - Charge - Bite - Swipe - Bite - Bite - Swipe - Bite
A friend of mine said he used: charge, grab and kick on him and worked, I will see if I can find him again
I tried grab in him a first time and none of the attempts worked

Charge > Grab > Pound works well on Prismatic Dragon, took it down without much trouble
also confirmed that Comet Wyvern is weak to Claw

For Prismatic Drakaiva, I found it helpful to Charge, Rest, Charge, Grab, and spam Pound.

Thanks everyone! Added the tips up to this point. It's looking like the new enemies are acting predictably based on their enemy type. Have to test all of them, though, since the Radioactive Snake works differently from the other types of Snake.

Also keep in mind that just because a strategy can work relatively consistently, it doesn't mean it'll work every time. I Roared at a Dustling from last year earlier today (which is known via the Wiki to be weak to Roar), and it kept hitting me through it until I was low enough health for Roar to never work. But then I found the same enemy again and Roar worked right away. It's luck.

Yeah for me, each time I clawed Comet Wyvern, it did 30 damage

I found Comet Serpent to be weak to roar. Fought it twice so far, first time ran away almost immediately from roaring, second time didn't run away, but I must have pressed roar 10 times, and 8 of those times it was frozen in fear.

Since I needed to update everything anyway due to enemies losing their Large status (and thus their Trample immunity), I went ahead and condensed the guide. Aside from the Radioactive Snake, most enemies work the same way others of their suffix (Drake, Burstling, etc.) do, as well as multiple suffixes working the same way as one another. I double-checked with the Wiki to make sure I wasn't missing anything, but the Wiki is missing the Pound ability for foes, so it might be missing more.

I've maintained the original research and tips in the second post under a spoiler tag.

If there's anything else I've missed (or if an enemy type went missing when I condensed the guide), please let me know!

Charge->Rest->Charge->Grab->Pound->Kick worked for me against Pulsar Windssrah. I just had to pound/kick 2-3 times after I could grab it.
