NEW SHOPPING FEATURE FOR DECOR

as a Lioden player of almost 7 years, and a frequenter of both branch sales and the trading center, and a bit of a decor hoarder, I can confidently say that finding a decor or background that I want is nearly impossible sometimes. you'll have the perfect decor design in the wardrobe, and go to buy the needed items to finish the design and... absolutely no trace in either section. you post a thread offering to buy the decors, but, a week later, not a single reply.

decor purchasing is one of the most frustrating aspects of this game sometimes, just because it's such a niche market. with breeding items or stat items, there is a well-established demand, and commonly accepted pricepoints. some flower decors could range anywhere from 300sb to 10gb depending on the mood of the sole branch seller that happens to put one up for sale that day. not to mention, there's a limited number of branch slots per den, so oftentimes people will not put certain decor up because they have no idea if there is any DEMAND for them, let alone what price range the buyers are looking for. after many nights spent frustrated about this topic, I decided I'd post a suggestion proposing a new feature system to be implemented into LD. keep in mind, this is just a rough idea, and id love to hear criticism/critique about it.


WHAT PURPOSE WOULD IT SERVE?

to solve this issue, I think it'd be a cool idea to implement a new shopping feature, like the TC and Branches, but exclusively for decor. and, unlike the tc and branch sales, the purchaser offers the currency and the seller "buys out" the trade with the desired decor. similar to how a player can offer currency in the tc and specify what they want, and other players can offer.

now, I know you're probably thinking-- so why can't decor purchasers just do that? well, mostly because the only way to FIND those trades is by searching with keyword, which, can be a pain in the ass at best on a good day, with typos and misspellings and misplaced words LOL.

also, most importantly, this new decor feature would increase DEMAND. there are booming markets for pretty much every aspect of Lioden-- lions, mutations, breeding items, stat items, beetles, etc-- but decor is the one of the only things that more often than not, sits untouched in a player's hoard and accumulates, especially if they themselves don't use decor on their lions. having a new market, where the players can click on it and see raw currency being offered for the decor that they otherwise wouldn't think twice about in their hoard, would open a new flow of currency through the site, and help to circulate decor through players, a task that feels nearly impossible as of now.


WHAT WOULD IT LOOK LIKE?

the rough idea that I have in mind is similar to the trading system of the tc, except more specific. conceptually, this would be the process:

a player wants a specific decor so...
1. player goes into the new decor trading area
2. player creates an offer (i.e. 1gb for Snowdrops)
3. player sets the amount of uses they'd accept (i.e. 5 uses)
4. player 2 is scrolling through the area and sees the trade. they go to their hoard and realize they have snowdrops sitting there that they'll never use.
5. player 2 completes the offer and gets 1gb, similar to how a gb/sb buyout works in tc, simply just decor instead of currency

obviously uses is a big component of decor, so to make sure that the buyers aren't getting scammed, a necessary feature would be the minimum amount of uses they'd accept. if the offerer's decor item did not meet the requirements, it wouldnt show up to be able to be bought out with. similar to the dropdown of the gorilla enclave offers, only decors that meet the requirements could be offered.


TLDR

-new decor buying/selling area
-would help stimulate the decor market and circulate decors lying in hoards that people don't know/understand the demand of, and make decor buyer's lives way easier
-trades would work similar to tc trades, except currency is the item being offered and decor is the item being bought out with.
-items and uses are conditions of trade

if this is too much work/way too much of a project just for decor, I think it'd be nice if perhaps the decor tab of the tc was expanded, more fitting for these needs :D

again, this is a super rough idea, completely open to suggestions and criticism. I will also do a visual mockup soon, when it is not 3am where I live haha
