I've tried to get mutated lions before and I only ever got like 2 primals from my third king which I applied the mutie on demand primal to but I never got any other mutations or hybrids. I know that the cotton root bark increases the chance but I don't know by how much. Is it still a low percent or not? I'm not sure how that works. I've never had hybrids and I'm not sure how to get one. Never was really explained. I've been trying to get mutations since my second king and only ever got the ones from the primal. Any other mutations I had was gifted to me or purchased from trades. I'd like to know how to breed them but I'm not sure I can. I don't spend real money on this site because I can't afford to do so. So I just do what I can the free way. SB to GB trades can be pricey though I don't sell much of anything cause everyone wants muties that I don't have. I don't really sell cubs anymore. I just give them away or chase once they are adults. Only muties seem to have a price. No mutie means free I guess. I'm not meaning to seem down. I just want to know if their is an effective cheap way that won't have me spend 100k sb or more for items. I tried to just have a lioness loss her litter naturally then breed her again and nest her but attempts fail for mutie every time. I heard it's suppose to be effective that way to but that might have changed I guess. I even tried using Lion Meat but it still didn't work. I do know about the breeding items but they aren't easy to obtain yet every day 10+ people seem to have another mutie cub added to their prides.

https://www.lioden.wiki/mutations

You don't want a hybrid if you don't have a huge amount of GB to breed her. You literally need Buffalo Scrotum on every breeding and even then getting her to pass on her mutation is only 10% for gen ones and 5% for generations after. 5% for breeding.

The best way I have bred mutations is to have piebald or patches king. I literally have at least 1-3 piebalds/patches (type depending on the king, have had only pie/patches kings for like 2-3 years now) cubs born every week. And I don't breed that much and the number rises when I massbreed.

Non-mutie lions _are worthy_. I breed Orchids (raffle base) and they usually go for at least 10 GB, but most commonly they are worth over 20 GB/cub. And I have had 12 Orchids born in less than 5 months. I don't sell mine since I keep mine to breed more, but it is good way to make money. New bases, especially BO bases, sell for a lot. Lions heavy with BO marks and traits (like base, eyes, skin, mane, mane color) sell for a lot.

Of course a lion with 150 stats, common base, common traits and few common markings sell only for so much as an fodder so almost nothing. Why? Because those cubs are born plenty to all players and only people buying cubs for Gorilla quest and for karma boost may buy them.

I have not used Lion Meat for years now and have two waiting for the day I wanna try. I used 2 CRBs in total last year, this year I have used none. Still I drown in mutated lions. If you buy GMO cow in future events, hold on it and sell. Use the like 40 GB you get from it to save up and to maybe use CRBs if you want. CRBs are the cheapest and most efficient way to get most mutations, cause you end with 95% possibility of getting bob tail and other cheap muts. You don't want to use 40 GB for foldie.

DR/TL: Get a piebald/patches/ferus/felis/other primal passable male mutation for your king, king it and massbreed. Bam! Muts. Plus mutations don't even sell for that much really, piebalds are like 1-4 GB and ferus/felis gets little more but that's it.

ETA: I have only bought two 50 GB sets for this game last Black Friday. I got two piebald MODS and it was so worth it. But even without paying I have played this game for 6 years and have drowned in muties for years now. LD doesn't need real money to get good at, it just makes things easier and faster.

So muties aren't worth much. Though someone that barely has 3 GB might find those decent. Like I said I had a Primal king. He even had an Ice base and heavy hyena stripes marking but I was told he wasn't attractive to stud with I mass breed my king all the time and only had like 2 primal cubs for his entire time as king from age 5 to whatever age the end is. I can't remember exactly.

So guess their is no way to get muties unless you have a piebald/patch or primal king.

I'm just going to assume that NCL eyes are probably worthless same as event markings and bases. Only raffle lionesses and rare stuff matter. Since I only have common stuff then I guess I can't sell cubs.

Thanks for the help I suppose. Probably best I just keep to breeding and chasing lions. Common is all I got plus I was told stats mean nothing on lioden. I'll just not have get tigons, leopons, or any other mutie since I can't get a piebald or patchy king since I don't have money for that.

Don't feel so discouraged! Sure, the game is way easier when you can buy GB, but i'm playing for completely free, no purchases ever and I've got a few hybrids myself. Getting one isn't easy, you need a long-term plan, really.

First things first take advantage of the events! You can really get rich on those if you spend a bit of time on exploring every day. From the various event shops you can then purchase breeding items or applicators - those are usually worth the most. Look around for what people seem to be excited about, look at the chat, at the prices on branches, that should give you a rough idea of what's worth investing in. Once you get a few items you're going to need patience - don't sell them the same month! Or even two months after the event. It's an investment, for items that available only in one event you can get a lot of money a few months after the event, when the demand is high but there is no consistent supply. You can also do little things, like hunting and selling 100 big food uses (those that give over 50% hunger, mostly) for 1 GB, or (what I found to be a quick way to multiply money) catching NCLs, breeding them, giving them CRB and reselling them when they're in heat for 2 GB. You should advertize your trades if you opt into those options though.

Then consider if you want to breed a hybrid yourself or buy one and then breed it. To breed a hybrid yourself your best bet, in my opinion, is to breed a lot of lionesses with CRB. And i truly mean A LOT. If you have around 50 GB I'd say you can give it a try, though it might still be difficult, since it's all luck based. You get no guarantee that you will get a hybrid either way, you can just make your chances better. What also helps are low fertility lionesses (1% fertility gives the highest chance of a mutation, although it's still very low). Then just mass breed and hope for the best. If you're more patient and want instant results though, just save up around 200 GB using the methods above and buy a hybrid cub. It does require a lot of work and time, but if you really want it then it's worth it! Once you have a hybrid remember to always have some buffalo scrotums saved up, those give you the best chance of the hybrid passing her mutation, since instead of a one cub with a 5% chance you get three or four cubs with the same chance, each one rolls separately.

If you have any more questions, feel free to shoot me a PM! I would be happy to answer all of them.
I know it might seem impossible to get anything done, but once you get a little bit of an understanding of how things work here and put in some time into it, it definitely gets easier!
Sorry for the wall of text by the way ^^" Lioden is a bit complicated

I've been here since 2014 and have not gotten a hybrid, I also play for free as I cannot buy GB with real money whatsoever. My paycheck goes toward real life necessary things. And it is too hard for me personally (not saying it will be hard for you) to keep any GB I get for obtaining a hybrid cub. I'm autistic, so I fixate on what interests me at the time and it all goes to Ferus cubs or anything I think will be a good stud.

If you want different muties, patches and pies can be pretty cheap depending on base, stats and cleanliness of the stud. (I don't care about clean or dirty personally.) That may be the easiest way to go mutie wise. So don't give up on wanting a piebald or patches.

Breeding to a hybrid stud is tricky because of the whole Buffy Balls thing, but they can be purchased this month and the lioness also has to be a goddess fertility, no lower. Plus the stud fee is up there. However you can try GMOs since they'll also be available this month, not saying it will be a 100% chance of a hybrid because common muties roll first. But you could also get lucky.

If you want a different primal variant, you can try breeding to something like a Ferus and replace your king with that since they tend to be slightly more desired than a regular primal. And they are useful when you are fighting humans in the poacher event or this event if you want to get evil points because of the primal rage effect they have.

Either way, don't be too discouraged. I have more failures than success with mutie breeding myself, and half of my king's cubs have been chased or otherwise removed because he didn't pass his piebald or Reindeer base. I'd say keep trying and think of a goal you want and stick to that goal. Don't be upset if you don't get what you want right off, it will eventually happen. Trust me, I've wanted a hybrid since they came out and I'm still sad that I didn't get a pon or a tigon yet, and I get jealous of those that have all the luck. But I try to think positive and say maybe eventually and the RNG doesn't totally hate me.

I'm autistic to and I made this post to ask how to breed a mutie without buying a mutie or studing with a mutie because I don't have the currency or require stud items for it. That is my goal. I wouldn't have made this post if their was a guide to breeding muties from non-muties but I didn't find one so I made this post to ask.

Cub sales have sucked for years now, it's nothing new. A lot of players can barely get their worthy cub to sell for right price and they have to underprice it to get it away from their pride. The link (https://www.lioden.wiki/mutations) to LD official Wiki I put on my first comment shows well the different items to get mutations from, mutation rolling order, from which events the breeding items can be bought, etc.

Yes, getting to know breeding mechanics, what to get from events, when to sell those items, and how to save up takes time, but it does for everyone else too. Yes some newbies get very lucky and get their first-generation Tigon from their first-ever used CRB and some use 1000 CRBs without hybrid, but it's RNG. It's luck. It took me two years before I could say honestly that I knew how Lioden worked and it has gained a lot of new mechanics, bases, mutations, and markings since that time in early 2017.

And I have diagnosed ADHD and have impulsively kinged new kings (like I was going to wait 2 months for the kinging but did it in the middle of the night cause I can't just wait even though I would save GB that way), bought new stuff and done a lot of things here that some people may have avoided altogether. I know I have problems with impulsivity, but I have learned to work around it. I generally forget very fast things that I don't see straight away, making saving up GB in very, very small bundles (1-10 GB, usually either 5 GB or 10 GB) in the hoard's bundles so much easier. I bundle the money up, leave it there, and bam, I find out 6 months later that there was money there too. You just have to learn and yeah it's not fast and it is not always easy, but I have done it and now I reap the benefits. I played almost six (6) years with no money spent on this game and it blossomed. Now I have used some cause I am a working woman and did some small savings from each payment (like 5 euros that I could have spent on ie. ice cream I saved for LD) and wanted to support LD _and_ get the BF benefits.

Hybrid studs DO NOT pass their mut! Only females

I will keep it simple - try finding a mentor. It takes time to learn to be good in this game. Being good is also very broad term since everyone has different goals. For now - buy breeding items each event in event shops (or base applicators if there is no breeding items certain months), wait few months and then sell. Like others said In the meantime try reading forum, checking out TC and branches & observing a lot. Don't spend your first GB immidiately.

Play Serengeti Shuffle every day and try scoring 3500+ points You are almost sure to get 400sb/Honeycomb/Black Stallion/Dove Feast.

Honeycomb you can sell for 1gb, Dove Feast for 600-1200sb & Black Stallion for even 2-3gb

Also!
Do quests for Gorilla. Try difficult ones but the most important thing is to try doing them every day. Once you'll get 300 Monkey Teeth you can sell them for 35-50gb (advertise on forum)

@Nich0lax

CRB is an item that boosts the cub's chance of inheriting random mutation (primals, piebalds, OG fur excluded), which yes includes hybrids and lethal mutations too. You can also get totally random mutations from two lions with no mutations, you just need luck, which CRB then boosts.

yo everyone else will have signifigantly more so helpful things to say then me but my main (not this account) is a stat account. i've spent more gb than id like to admit on stat based lions and ive restarted my pride like 3 times. so there is a market in stats though the market is smaller they pay crazy amounts if you can get in. theres stat monsters (9-10k) who live on the leaderboard then the clean breeders who hang around the 1-3k area in their stats. breeding stat cubs, training males into the 3-5k range and selling them can absolutely get you money and from there get you muties. but stat breeding is a full time commitment, being the reason i've started over so many times. gonna collect stat ideas from exploring a head of time, find the right king to stat into, get some females with decent stats, and pump time and resources into heirs for others to buy. the clean market has lower stats but are harder to keep clean and stat monsters cost roughly the same as pons and gons, sometimes more. though on the leaderboard can charge like 30 gb PER BREEDING.
