Currently on my seventh project king! He's got all her traits, so I'm now on the part I've dubbed "phase 2" of the project.

Choosing a target
The most difficult and most important part: which raffle lioness should I try to recreate?
For the sake of my own sanity I decided early on that I would not try to recreate a raffle lioness with a rosette marking or a combo base. A rosette marking would require a ridiculous amount of gnawrocks, and combo bases are simply too much of a hassle for it to be worth it. There's plenty of other good options to go for instead.
I looked trough the old raffle lioness directory, specifically RLs from 2016-2018 and 2019-2020. If a RL stood out to me, I searched her up, and if there were no breedable clones remaining I added her to the list of candidates. In the end I narrowed it down to 4 raffle lionesses I would personally want to see brought back, and with a bit of help deciding on a target from friends & fellow users, I have now decided on who I want to recreate!

The target: Noctis RL from October 4th, 2019


She's a stunning girl for sure, and I think she's one of the easier girls to recreate. She does not have a BO mane shape, mane color, skin or eye color. That means all I have to focus on is the markings and the base, and then I can fix all the remaining parts later.
Noctis base is also way easier to breed, since its a rare base instead of special. As long as I can get all the markings onto 1 lion, i can throw on a base applicator with the right genetics and at some point a noctis cub will be born. Having a noctis based parent isn't needed, unlike a special based RL would need.

I've never really done a project like this before, so I'm a bit unsure where to start. I'll think about the base last, and for now try to create a stud and a lioness that paired together cover all the markings. I'll try to get ahold of the more rare marking slots first, like the white inverted zebra and white soft unders, and then the more common markings like celestial speckles last. Lastly I'll try to get a noctis cub with these markings and then throw applicators on to fill out the remaining, non-BO traits.

Summary of the Goal
Main part: Get a true 100% replica of the October 4th, 2019 raffle lioness
Extra challenge: Try to keep the finished lioness clean and with a short heritage!

No idea how hard/easy it will be to keep the heritage short, but for now aim for a G3-4 RL clone?
