hi all, id like to suggest a possible new in game item, this would be a heritage eraser. with the recent rise in clean lions being worth more simply for the fact they're not inbred many users are slowly falling out of love with lioden, as making enough sb and gb to get by is becoming more difficult. i have two ideas

A Generation Wipe-
wipes a specific generation from their heritage. this gets rid of single inbreeding instances and doesn't impact the lion in any way, however this means they would have to choose g1, g2, g3, g4 and so on. can only be used once

An Ancestral Purge-
this completely wipes a lions heritage, however, this also means that they cannot pass any marks that are genetic, and can only pass exactly what the lion they have used it on currently possesses. the rules would be that the lion mustve not hunted, patrolled or been bred.

i feel like this would benefit a lot of people and make the game a bit easier to play for new breeders, however getting a hold of one of these would be via floods or an explore encounter, with maybe an event like the july event.

yeah this is it! let me know what you think and any ways you think it should be altered, i wanna hear opinions! ty <3

whilst I'd personally love it, it would completely crash the market for clean lions. Gen 1 kings at the moment can only come from event groupies, which cost a *lot* of gb later in the year, especially if they have high stats. And Chased NCL have their worth because of the lack of heritage + rare bases/ markings etc.

Being able to wipe heritage would make both of those types of lions worthless, and make clean BO lioness worthless as well, as someone could get the dirtiest BO in the game and make them a gen 1.

This feature already exists in the form of heritage reps.

@Jenday, I'm assuming they mean it would be an item you can buy and apply to any lion!

True, although chasing lionesses is the non-king equivalent. There are checks and balances to both. The disadvantage to using a heritage rep is you lose the mut and stats, giving purpose to training and mods. the disadvantage to chasing a lioness is you cant reclaim her yourself and can only try to buy her back if shes listed for sale. Having an item that deletes heritage would make these systems irrelevant.

There's one very big problem with the A Generation Wipe part.

The lion would still technically be inbred. You just couldn't see it in the heritage page. This would not make the lion clean, it would simply hide part of heritage.
There was a bug that did this a while back and was fixed, causing many 'clean' lions to be reveal to be 'dirty'. So I don't think this would be a viable option.

Edit: For example, a lion's grandparents are inbred. So you wipe the grandparents from the lion's heritage. If you click on the lion's father and/or mother's name, the grandparents would still be there under the lion's father and/or mother's heritage.

As said this wouldn't make the lion clean, it would just hide the heritage part.

Either way, no support from me for reasons already stated by others.

"can only pass exactly what the lion they have used it on currently possesses. " Lions can already only pass the markings they have though. They can't pass markings that their parents have but they don't.
