I can't describe how well this design resonated with me. You paid incredible detail to Oryx's character from the game and did some research which clearly shows through in your design. I loved how you incorporated just a little bit of red in the design to reference his armor and wings while keeping it dark overall to suit him and keep it within my preferences. You kept him very on-theme with little references here and there, and as I fiddled with some possibilities I only grew to like him more.

There were only very small changes made to free up a few slots, but this overall allows me to customize him more in the future on a whim. The only other change I made was giving him a mutation for Charred Patches. I would've adored having Uneven for him, but turns out low-gen Uneven are hard to come by right now.

In the meantime, I will keep an eye out for any Uneven cub deals on TC, as Charred would absolutely be replaced in a heartbeat. I'll do this on my side account so I give myself as much time as possible, since my current boy is going to kick the bucket any minute now.

SECOND:
mewflakes (#88492) - Harrowed Oryx

This design was very well put together and the mix of soft blues and reds really brought in the two sides of his character, being Oryx and The Taken King. I chuckled when I saw the Oryx Horn Circlet - I thought it was very clever and ended up buying one from last month's event shop to mess around with it on whatever design I may have chosen. I think the part that really stuck with me on this design was some of the decor choices. I liked the panting mouth, the circlet and the rugged mane. I may incorporate some of these decor choices depending on how they mesh with the design. At the end of the day though, I think the design just missed the mark due to it looking very approachable and not very intimidating - but I still really liked it. ♥

THIRD:
ashfur (#260931) - In his Presence

This one caught my eye a bit more than the Smilus, which was the same design but decorated different / different mutation. The part I liked most about this design was how the mutation interacted with the face. He had a very dark aura around his head/chest area, but I was lost with the overwhelming amount of red. I'm not sure if this would've improved through a different background choice and maybe a small tweak of the red opacities, but I couldn't see him being Oryx. I still really liked the decorations on him though, you absolutely nailed that! ♥

I liked these designs for the Runner-ups, but overall they just didn't suit what I was looking for. However, I still believe that these designs would make some kickass looking kings and queens. Your designs were beautiful overall, and I thank you for submitting them!

Let me tell you, I was surprised that a non-primal won me over. I was hardcore looking at Smilus mut reps for days and making sure all the designs would've worked for it, and was even willing to make custom decor for certain aspects. I'm s h o c k e d. but all the g2-g3 smilus trades sold out and i grew attached to the idea of an uneven king lmfao
