Yes it’s what the title says
But BEFORE you say “everyone can post wherever they want, reject!”
Hear me out first before you judge
Current System: Mods said that when you block someone right now, they won’t be able to see your threads in the Recent Activity/posts area (public results). BUT if they receive a direct link, they will be able to post on the thread.
Problem with Current System: If they have subscribed to your thread, blocked users can also access the thread using that. You have no control over that and things may not go well then.
Especially in gifting threads, I have seen users who
break the gifting thread rules so many times. And yet, gifting thread owners cannot do anything about it except to remind them
1000000000 times to FOLLOW the rules. Yes I know, rules that were made in gifting threads are not official. But, I have seen people
taking advantage of gifting threads. They gift
MOST times, not every time, which meaning they can get away with not gifting once, but gifting others, and still get gifted every time. This makes it really
UNFAIR and
DISRUPTIVE to the threads.
Isn’t gifting threads supposed to spread gifts around and make everyone happy? Then why are some people using the threads for their
own gain? Mods can’t do anything about it
unless if they
never gift. So some people just don’t get gifted. It’s just really annoying and frustrating.
It ruins the
PURPOSE of gifting threads in the first place.
The owners have no control over their thread except just to pm the ones to make sure they follow the rules. Which not everyone changes and follows them.
I know this is a
“promise based” transition, but what does it really mean? Do you really want people to not hold their end of the
“promise” deal? Sure, you can reject it and
let more people disrupt gifting threads and other threads in general (neutral tone to show what I really mean).
Solution with Current System:
1) Let thread owners be able to block people from their own thread
Hopefully this doesn’t interfere with any LD rules, but it would really solve the gifting thread problems and other threads in general
2) In
THIS thread, Lucien (#150782) offered this solution:
“All I am asking for is an update where someone you blocked can still see your thread, but is prevented from posting on it. In this case, they can still SEE your threads in case anyone decides to start drama about them so they can report it, or not be able to post if you are trying to mind your own business and not have anything to do with the person you blocked”
This thread is kinda old, so I decided to create my own thread with new solutions and arguments so mods won’t come here and lock this, saying that a thread mentioning “fixing blocking system” exists already and to post there instead.
3) Let the blocked user not be able to see the threads the user who blocked them in the first place. (About this, please refer back to the current system to gain a full understanding of what it means)
Suggested by 🥝 Kiwi - She/Her 🥝 (#251788)
Added Suggestion: Including links and subscriptions (Suggestion by me)
4) There would be an option to block certain players, but only you, as the thread creator, would be able to view this! You can also change this, or put a temporary ban on the players! they would recieve a PM regarding if they are blocked, and perhaps a message you can add to it!" -Idea by DrearyLily (#361841)
If you don’t support, please tell me why. Please EXPLAIN so I will know your reason. Also, if there is anything else I should add, or any other solutions, please comment below. Thanks!
