Hey!! So I’m Uhm, Kind of a new player, well, a very new player…I’m a seasoned player on furry paws, and one of my online friends recently showed me this game and I was like y e s, and I’m actually enjoying this quite a bit more than furry paws if I’m being honest (could just be the nice new-ness of it, but we’ll see)

Anyhoo- I have a buuunch of questions that I’m needing answered- and I didn’t wanna bombard a singular person with like 3,897 questions (that’s an exaggeration, I don’t think I could type up that many questions even if I had them lol)

So like- ima post them on the forums? In case someone can help??? Yea
List of questions, GO!

#1: Should I have a list of dailies? If so, what should they be??
So, since this is a pretty real-time-based game, I’m assuming there are like, dailies that you can do to progress, right? Probably? I assume so?
So far, the lil list of dailies I’ve compiled are to Feed myself, my lionesses, my cubs, and any other lions I have, feed my beetle grubs (I have like, a lot of them, and have had to buy kind of a lot of herbs to keep them fed, which I’ll talk more about in question 2), play/groom/tussle with all my lionesses/cubs, send my lionesses hunting, breed any lionesses that can be bred, check the giving tree & nab a cub/adolescent if I can, do the daily games (the “choose a cup” one, the bejeweled one, aaand I think that’s all of them? Are there more I should be doing?), send my lionesses hunting as much as I can, I would do patrols if I had any sub males but none of my cubs have grown up yet ;w;, and then just explore until my energy is fully out, doing my best at battles (from the help of the wiki). I also keep an eye out for the challenges, like the event thing, and for now I’ve been fighting every lion I come across so I can try to complete the punk breeding challenge (I know it’s probably not the best idea for a complete newbie to take on the punk breeding challenge right away, BUT IDC UR NOT MY MOM! IMA BE A REBEL!! Lmaoo. Ain’t that the spirit of the challenge anyway? To like, prove urself and crap? Idk lol. Basically, I wanted to give it my best shot even if I don’t actually complete it haha!), and then I’ve been dabbling with quests and stuff, is there other stuff I should be doing?

#2: what’s the best way to get herbs to feed beetle grubs & I’m assuming eventually beetles themselves? I’m like a collector of things, and whenever I come across a beetle grub while exploring ( which is like really often) I always try to catch it. I usually don’t successfully do so, but I catch them often enough to have I think 4 or 5 beetle larvae in my possession. They’re all listed as common exept one that’s listed as uncommon, but hey, I take what I can get. Now uh, the problem is I haven’t been so lucky with finding herbs while exploring. Ive figured out that you can buy a random herb from I think it was a lemur, for like 20 SB, and I’ve just been doing that since it’s not that expensive and It’s the only way I know how to get herbs consistently, and I really don’t want my poor larva to starve, but I’m wondering, is there a better way to do this? Is it possible to get herbs from other players for cheaper? Or like, from somewhere else? Am I just like missing something? Or is this the best way to do it?

#3: are there any items that are consumable, but should not be consumed? For example really rare items or something? Or items/things that can be used on lions or grubs, can’t be gotten back, and should only be used on like really good lions or in very specific scenarios? And if so, what are they all? Like, I don’t want to stumble across something really rare and valuable and just use it on one of my random lions that I don’t really care about, or like if it’s a really rare beetle herb or something I don’t want to just feed it to my grubs without realizing it was rare, yk? I’d want to sell it, or more likely keep it and put it on display or something lol

#4: are there any rare things that a lion cub can have, or like a beetle grub or things that don’t go in the hoard, that are like really rare n valuble? And what are they?? Like, I’ve heard you can get mutation cubs or something like that, and I dint really know how to TELL if something is like rare like that, and I really don’t want to like loose something really valuable just cause I didn’t do my research and didn’t realise it was so valuble, yk?

#5: what’s the best way to progress fast? Or even slow but steady, Like…is there some strategy that’s best in your opinion?

#6: LOREEE!! what’s the lore of this game?? Just looking at the battle npc list, well it shows quite a few npcs that would make any lore enjoyer’s heart skip a beat.
Is there like…any lore guides or lore compilations? I want every detail >:)
And also is it like a normal thing to do to make up lore for your lions? Is there any rules/ediquit to that? (I don’t know how to spell ediquate. Edicate? Edikite? IDK??)
basically like, things you should know before making lore for your lions n beetles n things.

#7: is there anything that you would think a newbie like me needs to know, that I haven’t asked about? Like, chances are I probably didn’t already know whatever it is, and just didn’t think to ask!

#9: this isn’t a question, I just wanted to say thank you for reading, and I hope you have a wonderful day :D

Hi! I'm gonna try to help as much as possible so

1- it's mostly all this for dailies (you can narrow it to feeding your pride/beetles and spending energy if you're really lazy)
Also for the games the ones which give you things are sheregenti Shuffle(SB/decor/items),lioden trivial (SB), the baoball thing (stats) and the snake minigame which give decors (if you don't want to spend silver beetles that is) else you have the silver beetles raffles, slot machine or the cups which cost SB

2 you can found some while exploring of by Beetle battling (only male can fight, female are only for breeding) and by buying them like you did (I think buying them from players would be much pricier)

3 All breeding items are rare for me (Like black stallion, lion scrotum or things like this) or energy things (roasted lamb, red bull) and for the herbs idk if there is some rarer than the other but lioden wiki must say it perhaps

4 For mutation you need to have a crb lioness or an already mutated parent (idk too much about breeding only items effect and it's what's mostly used) also combo base can be good (there is a combo base lioden wiki on which you can see if it's combo base or how to get it and the conditions)

5 I don't think so, just playing the game and doing the event depend on which plan you want to progress fast

6 You can make lore for your lions there is no rule unless you're in a group who set rules or use your own rules and for the lore it depend on the event mostly I think, I didn't found any other lore excepted for the reason of why you get a leopon or tigon (your lioness breeding with a wild leopard or with a tiger zoo escapee)

7 I don't think so? I think I too didn't think about it but I could say about mostly progressing at your speed and marking friends

8 You too If you need help for something don't hesitate to pm me I'm always open to help (even if my answers must bé pretty sketchy urgh)

I believe 1 and 2 were answered pretty well!

For question 3, there are some items that are breeding items. They're consumables, but not food items. So-- Lion meat, buffalo scrotum, lion scrotum, great tit, red cock, black stallion, grain of paradise... They're not food items, but they ARE consumables. They're all obtained in yearly events, so they rise in price over the year and then go to being cheaper during the event.
There's also some items like a great tortoise, red bull, roasted lamb, and meat pie that are consumables but not food items. They have varying effects.
TL;DR: If you feed from the 'food' section of your hoard, you'll be fine.

Now, every food item and toy item has a small chance of providing you with stats. However, there are some items that have a MUCH higher rate, and they ARE food items. They can accidentally be fed to your lion or played with pretty easily. Some of these include:
Honeycomb, egg yolk, camel toes, crocodile eggs, dry palm leaf, flamingo legs, fluffy bunny carcass, hippo fat, kudu horn, longfin eel, lovebird plumage, mudfish, small tortoise, ostrich fluff, turtle eggs.

------------------------

4: Lions can have mutations and breed only traits that make them rare. There are some mutations that are less rare than others. Say achromia, folded ears, overgrown tongue... These are some on the common end. Something like two heads, or a leopon, or a tigon, however, are rare and valuable. There are some mutations that won't show up until the lion has aged up-- The only one that does this that's actually decently valuable is double uterus. It's not very common for mutations to pop up from a breeding that doesn't have some sort of mutation item used (cotton root bark, gmo cow, lion meat).
The other thing is breed only traits. A lot of these start from 1 raffle lioness or something like that and slowly get waterfalled down into the community. It's hard to remember which eyes are breed only sometimes since they don't really have a label system like your bases have. If you look at your lions base, it actually denotes whether or not it's rare. The system is:
Common, uncommon, rare, special

Common bases can be found on rolled kings, NCLs, and in the base changer.
Uncommon bases can be bred or placed by the base changer.
Rare bases are breed only OR a special applicator.
Special bases are breed only OR a special applicator OR a combo.

Common x Common = Common
Common x Uncommon = Common, uncommon
Common x rare = common, uncommon, rare
Common x special = common, uncommon, rare

Here is where you'll find a more in-depth guide of how bases work: https://www.lioden.wiki/base-genetics
Here is where you'll find a list of the possible markings in the game: https://www.lioden.wiki/markings
A good rule of thumb when it comes to markings is that rosettes are rare and valuable. They have a lower pass rate than normal markings.

----------------------------------------
5. A way to 'progress' fast is to do your dailies. If you hunt your lioness for a full 10 hunts a day, you can usually get enough food to sell for GB. 100 food uses = 1 GB on the market.
If you play the games, sometimes you can get decor, stat items, or breeding items that you can sell for a small price.
I think the best way is to play the events and grind for the valuable items. Pay attention to the buying board-- See what people want. This event, for example, people want large tortoises. They'll sometimes pay 1GB or 2GB for them. In months with things like breeding items (February is the month you'll hear a lot for this!), focus on those, hold onto them for a bit, and then sell. When gnawrocks are in the shops, they sell later in the year for 40-50GB per.
-----------------------------------------
6. There's a lot of good event storylines in the game! You can find a lot of them on the wiki, or experience them for yourself! For example, this month has V'Kai and Vashkartzen. This is where a lot of the storylines are: https://www.lioden.wiki/storylines

It's definitely not weird to make lore for your lions. Some people play to create bloodlines and stories for their lions, and that's fun too!

Let me know if you have any more questions, I'd love to answer them!

For the beetle herb ones, not sure if someone said this and I'm too lazy to read and this relply is late but here's a tip: wait until the beetles are at 90% hunger and then feed them. One herb can fill all that, so you don't need as much herbs
