A very simple theory.

Larvae, they like meat, typically rotting meat.
Lion skulls, they can be found around the maps.
Has anyone else noticed the similar material that they sit on? I think it’s obsidian. But, they both have that ground right?

What if larvae ate the lions live?
And only left their bones ‘cause the bones were too crunchy.
