So this is a hot topic at the moment and after posting my opinion in the news someone suggested I post this here and see if more people like my idea! I'm just gonna copy and paste what I said there here~

"So I am going to toss my opinion on the whole "Shards for Steps" thing. Personally, I'm in agreement with 2 shards being busted and 5 shards being too much and agree 3 shards is a happy medium. That way explorers are still making shards but it still is at a slower rate.

Or alternatively, what you can also do is this; keep it at five shards per step BUT do one of two things instead to keep it balanced:

- Make enemy encounters less frequent. Seriously, when I was exploring even at 2 shards a step what really killed my shards was having like 10 enemy encounters in a row. I wish I could say I'm exaggerating but sadly I'm not
- Have defeated enemies drop shards, like 3 to 6. Its not a lot but still enough to keep people going if successful!"

I'm mostly focusing on the alternatives to be honest as I know it's supposed to be a shard dump but maybe less would be better. But do let me know!

100% agree on this, 2 was definitely too low but going right back to 5 without trying out the two numbers BETWEEN 2-5 wasn’t a great idea imo. Especially since getting shards is easy for some, but even with 2 I kept fighting things and BARELY getting shard encounters, most of my encounters were axion core ones

While I loved how low-stress 2 shards per step was (especially after the relentless grind that is the June event), I have to admit that it was both pretty broken and obviously not what the community seems to want. I think trying out 4 per step would help, it'd still be a sink but it wouldn't be quite so fast. I worry that 3 would still be a little too low, but I'm not a game dev and don't know the first thing about balancing.

The other problem some people (me, but probably others too) are having is that once you hit zero shards and have already done your quests, you can only build back up in event encounters from regular explore. Which seem, at least to me, to be extremely slow and uncommon to encounter. If the encounters to get shards in regular explore were a bit more common, I think that would also resolve a lot of things.

I LOVE the idea of defeated enemies dropping shards. It gives an incentive to actually fight them instead of moving on.

They said they increased the MS rate in explore, but I actually found a huge drop if anything. Before the change I'd encounter several MS drops, but this time, I got about 15 on a full bar the last full explore I did.

Thats 3 steps in Celestial explore.

Still not ideal.

Especially when I work so I usually get about 1-2 energy bars a day if I'm lucky. Which means, if I'm lucky, 10-15 steps in the event per day (Which is heavily RNG based on Celestial Explore MS drops and battle encounters).

Of course, if I have a day off, I can spend my days off grinding for a Lioden event, or doing things around the house or having time with family. Events are supposed to be fun, not frustrating or grindy...arent they?

I didnt play the May event, because its a steaming pile of and I didnt play the June event much, only did the storyline for the apps because the rest is just boring I wasnt looking forward to July because the battling is so badly balanced and its so grindy. I was very disappointed in the poll question for changes to the battling, the question was not an either this or that, its BOTH. The poll was super close in numbers, only by 71 votes, so it shows BOTH are serious issues, not just one.

1097 Remove the "Large" trait which adds damage and resistance to grabbing
1026 Remove "Stun" traits altogether from Celestial Explore enemies


I guess, I wont be logging in much for this month now either.

When grinding events, it feels as though Lioden is almost requiring people to have full face time on the computer to accomplish even the smallest tasks.

I agree 2MS was too low. 3 would probably be ideal. Reduce the MS in Celestial explore and drastically increase the MS in regular explore. It would likely balance out better.
