So if this has been posted somewhere else please let me know but I couldn't find anything for this specific idea. So in general I adore the beetle collection book, I think it was a nice update for the people that actually care about the beetles and it gives a nice goal to work towards. My issue is how when you're actually viewing the beetles you've collected, the second you click a beetle you can no longer tell which ones you own. If you click a beetle it just takes you to a page that shows you that species and all the color options, I don't think that should be what happens. My suggestion instead is for clicking the individual beetles to take you to a page that shows you the colors for the beetles as it does now, but with markers to indicate the ones you've collected and the ones you haven't. Additionally I think on this page it should show both the female and males of the beetles, since I only just found out today you can collect one of each sex for each beetle but it's irrelevant since only collecting one sex will add it to your book. Either collecting either sex should block out both, or as just suggested the females should be displayed with markers if you haven't gotten them. |

I've been recently looking more into beetle collecting, and haven't found any other relevant mention on the "collected sex" issue, aside from this posting. Does anyone know why this is a thing? Is there an actual reason to collect one of each gender of a beetle type and color, or is this genuinely irrelevant? ![]() |
