So I found this site via tiktok. Someone finding a super pretty good lioness, and being me, I searched what it was and found here! I've been on here for about two weeks, and while I've figured some things out, I could use some help!

There's stuff I'm just not learning on my own. I used to have a wajas account, so some stuff sort of translates. But I still don't know for sure. Like, a lion being dirty. Is that a lion that is inbred, or is that a lion with muddied markings? What matters most in posting a trade by way of communicating a lion's traits? Are there things I should know that I wouldn't learn on my own?

Any help would be appreciated!

Hi!

A lion being dirty means that it has been inbred once or multiple times (on any page on its heritage, even if it's far away - though some players still consider a lion "clean" if the inbreeding occurred on a lion which is very distantly related to yours). Clean lions are the opposite, they have no instances of inbreeding in their heritage.

With the second question, do you mean the title of a trade? If yes, I always include the following in the title - Base | Gender | Stats | Amount Of Markings | Amount of Breed-only Markings (Tier 2). This is a personal preference, there's many other options so just limit yourself to the things which seem most special about your lion (base, mane, special markings, etc.).

For the sake of marking in the trading center, abbreviations work too. Like, say, Demiurge|Female|102 stats|3 markings could be shortened to Demi|F|102|3M

Lioden also has monthly events in the event page. This one is almost over but its good to get involved for rare items! Pvp gains territory for the first 40 slots, impression level can allow you to enter the lioness raffle (changed weekly) or fond Chased Lionesses in explore (ones with non NCL markings on em or the Good/Evil pose)

Sell food to the monkey for extra SB

Check guides for slang, mutation info and breeding tips

ALWAYS CHECK FOR ROSETTE MARKINGS THEY ARE RANDOM AND FOLKS WILL PAY B I G FOR EM

Clean breeding means avoiding the most common stat king studs from back in the day: Moby Dick, Keyser Soze, HOT HOT TATER TOT, Boombah, The Savannah Prince, Meliodas, Indra and Slush (the last two are still rolling fairly regularly). These lions were very prolific had a RIDICULOUS amount of cubs, so thanks to that, their descendants are insanely common at this point. Any lion with ANY of those kings in their heritage tree would be considered dirty lions. A clean lion is one that is not related to any of those stat kings.

A lot of people say that inbred = dirty. This is not true. Inbred means that a lion has the inbreeding notice on the bottom of its heritage page. A non-inbred/not inbred lion is one that does NOT have this message. The confusion comes in because most of the dirty stat kings WERE also inbred. Once a lion is dirty or inbred, you can't get rid of it from its heritage, so if you like the idea of creating your own lines and avoiding inbreeding, clean breeding is 100% the way to go. It's a lot easier to avoid inbreeding if you avoid the dirty stat kings. It IS more of a challenge, but I personally find it to be a good challenge. Ignore anyone who says dirty = inbred. I highly recommend putting the list I typed above in your LD journal so you can reference it until you get more familiar with the names. And you will. If you look on the Leaderboards, you'll find that the vast majority of kings are related to Indra and other dirty kings because they had great stats.

One final note: Lions that are both clean and not inbred are often called "Squeaky Clean." Usually Squeaky Clean lions are also low gen, but they do not HAVE to be. They simply must not be dirty or inbred!

This is all super helpful, thank you!

I've got a few other questions too. When it comes to unwanted cubs, is abandoning the best way to deal with them? Killing isn't an option for me, as I prefer paragon over renegade. Or should I offer them to whoever might want them in the giveaways thread?

That mentioned, are "rare" options in the genetics slot actually rare? I had a cub born with "Red Medium Solid Rare".

More out of curiosity than anything else, when I send my lionesses on hunts, is it common for one to gain way more scars than the others? My first gal has a *lot* from hunting.

How you want to deal with cubs is completly up to you! Most people keep them for a while as so called Fodders in case the Gorilla Enclave gives them a quest where those cubs are needed. Some people kill or nature reserve them for karma loss/gain. If you want none of these options I would recommend sending them to the tree (abandon) as people in the giveaway chat are usually not interested in potato cubs etc.

To get used to rare markings, bases etc I would recommend reading the breeding and appearance guide in the Wiki. https://www.lioden.wiki/appearance
However if you’re unsure about a certain marking you can always ask in the help chat!

Gaining scars while hunting is completely random and doesn‘t depend on the lion. But if a lioness ever has too much scars for your liking you can always simply unequip them as scars act as decor!

I asked on the scars mostly because my gal gets them way more than my other lionesses. It must be coincidence then.

Another question if you don't mind. Is there a trick to fighting for territory? I think I've only won once overall out of a lot of attempts.

It's based on overall stats! Find someone in your level range with lower total stats than you!

I recommend searching for a king two level lower than you and with WAY lower total stats. Just use the search thing for that

You all have been super helpful! I've won a lot of territory in the last few days.

I tried googling another question I had, but I'll ask it here because I'd like to be sure. I got a NCL with Genetics "Golden Medium Countershaded Special" while exploring. Would this be a chased lioness? All I could find was that having to be bred for. That said, is she... worth anything?

No. Chased Lionesses can only be found once you hit the Dreamboat impression. This is just an NCL base, not worth much really. Genetics are generally used for breeding more than anything.

Two ways to note a Chased NCL is she will be either a Good or Evil personality

I looked on your territory and if I‘m thinking bout the right NCL she actually has a special base that you can only find as a dreamboat. I think there are four of these bases but they‘re not really worth that much nor do they count as chased
https://www.lioden.wiki/bases If you click on NCL Bases and scroll down a bit you can find a section called Excluse NCL Bases ^^

Starting at Average Impression, your leader will find lionesses in Explore that have been chased by other players. This means that they will tend to come with slightly better stats, more markings, nicer bases, etc. You can generally easily tell the difference between a basic NCL and a chased NCL, as basic NCLs are capped at three markings and have very basic bases and markings.

I copied this from the Wiki so basically a chased is a NCL with more than three markings and sometimes a more exclusive base etc. Chased NCLs CAN have other personalities besides Good and Evil, however a ‚normal‘ NCL CANT have a Good or Evil personality, so that‘s why people often say chased NCLs have to be Good or Evil, however that isn‘t true.

I didn't mean chased could only be good or evil, just that its a surefire way to tell if you haven't memorized the ncl markings and its not a super obvious colorbomb since normal ncls can't have those personalities

Yes, I wasn‘t talking about your previous message just general as a lot of new people get confused by this! ^^

My boy is a dreamboat! I got it, uh, two days ago? I was wondering because I saw her and thought she had markings which is why I chose to impress. It's this gal here: https://www.lioden.com/lion.php?id=794167666720
I've yet to get any good or evil lionesses in explore, though. Mostly just trying to max my good points anyway, rather than claim.

Also, just in general, I'm still learning breeding and genetics. I think I'm too stuck on the wajas mindset, which had more certainty but it was less interesting. Higher tier markings are less likely to be on my cubs, yeah?
