Last year most of my family got Covid and I went with my cousin, who I consider a sister, to her moms. It was the first time I was away from my family for multiple days. I got a little homesick and made a little poem, thought I'd finally take a leap and post it somewhere lol. Also I'm open to some criticism!

It’s A Long Way Home

It’s Christmas time again.
And I’m far away.
Grandma’s sick and I can’t stay.
Presents don’t glitter anymore.
My stocking looks like a bore.
I’m a long way away.
Muskegon isn’t all that great.
I’m a long way away.
I miss you, I’m sorry I left that day.
I left my heart in that house.
It’s tucked under my pillow next to a stuffed mouse.
Could you please put it under my window sill?
I’m hoping Saint Nick will give it a fill.
