@HoneyMilkTea[He/Him] | the time has come Your little trip to the plains had no complications, per usual. Everything moves with the wind peacefully.. Even the plants seem to hum along with the breeze. It's really calming. Clearly, you're not the only one enjoying it. A long, fluffy Not-A-Cat seems to be resting peacefully in the flower fields. Their fur is abnormally white, you can easily assume it's achromic. And that's a first. After a few moments in silence, it snorts and beckons you over. It seems like it wants you to enjoy this spot too. And wow. The humming from the foliage is a little louder over here, but it sounds so much more clear and harmonic. You can't not lounge in the spot and enjoy its beauty. You and your new buddy spend all day in silence, listening to the sounds that the plains has to offer. @🦝Sage/Wren🦝 | plains (not a) cat part 2 You never thought the plains could make you feel uneasy, but here we are. Normally, all the creatures here seem too entranced to bother attacking each other. You can't name one time you've seen something actually hunt or fight here. But today, that changed. A small feline (which you quickly identify as a Cosmo Cat) seems to be hunting down a bird in a tree. The cat makes more than enough noise to scare off the bird- but it won't fly away. No, it turns its head in the cat's direction and tilts it slightly to the left before turning away again. And while the cat pounces on the bird, you stop to think. Why doesn't anything hunt in the plains? Maybe everyone just gets so caught up in the scents to realize how hungry they are. Or maybe that's not it at all? Or maybe you're overthinking. You snap out of your thoughts as the small feline approaches you, bird in it's... maw? It's a gift to you from them, but you don't really know what to do with it.. The feline is much smaller than most Cosmo Cats you've seen, and their front paws are more like sharp claws. You politely decline the cats offering. The cat isn't upset, just a little disappointed. They nod, tearing into their earned meal themselves. You take some time to study the small cat's 'face' as it eats. It's nothing like any Not-A-Cat you've seen before. You can actually see its.. mouth? You don't know, actually.. @FrostbittenForest| boo You decide to visit both the plains and dunes today. Nothing is really shocking in the dunes today. It's normal, maybe too normal. Less hot than usual, no odd encounters.. it's suspicious. Or so you thought. As you were walking, a melanistic cat comes out of nowhere, falling onto their face. Right below you. Ouch. They get up, seeming a little dazed. When you ask if they're ok, the cat becomes flustered, embarrassed that someone actually saw them get a mouthful of sand. They assure you that they're okay, and proceed to switch the topic. "..Planning on going anywhere after this? I could.. use a break from this place." You tell the cat that you were heading to the plains afterwards, and they decide to follow you there. Their paws were getting tired after all that walking on the hot desert sand, anyway.   dunes cat!! they rolleddd.. - Short Fur - Short Ears - Long Tail - Dorsal Fur - No Pupil - Extra Limbs And Melanism! The plains is oddly quiet today. The plants aren't saying anything. As they normally should. After a bit of exploring, you find a white Cosmo Cat who seems to be searching a small hole. Your melanistic buddy decides this is the perfect time to approach. You watch as the cat trots over and gently nudges the white feline, who jumps and.. ..Slaps the cat in the face with their tail. Yowch. The cat is quick to apologize, saying that they were just startled and they really didn't mean it, and the melanistic cat responds by saying they shouldn't have startled them so bad. They go back and forth with apologies. Like, they were at each others throats. You break up the fight, cautiously asking what happened. "..These cats from the plains came in boasting about how much better it was than the mountains. I think the mountains are just fine." You can hear the anger slipping through the cats voice as they speak. "It's freezing! The plains is so much better! Clearly you've never been there." A cat you assume to be from the plains speaks up, biting back at the other feline. "Everyone knows how creepy the plains are. How do you sleep at night knowing flower-zombie cats roam freely?" "Those are MYTHS." "Don't think so." You sigh. These cats aren't going to come to a peaceful conclusion. So.. You tell the cats that whoever lasts the longest in the dunes is from the best location. The cats take you up on that challenge, willing to prove how much better their area is. No one wins. ok ok, here are the plains cats.. 1.   this cat rolled: - Long Fur - Long Ears - Long Tail - No Pupils - Connected Body (.. very hard to see it but its there) - Pale Fur - Wings And Ex. @Hyjo | Your exploration in the dunes has brought up some interesting finds. Specifically, a Cosmo Cat who seems to be digging for odd-looking twigs and stones. The cat emits some weird kind of fog that makes you feel dizzy, so you don't get too close. The cat lets out a satisfied purr every time they find something of their liking. You're interested as to why they're doing this. You call out to the feline, asking them what they're doing. "Finding fun stuff to hang around my den, of course." You raise a brow. You knew Cosmo Cats stayed in dens, but never really considered the idea that they found joy in decorating them. The cat is standing a good distance away from you, most likely because they're aware of the effects that their fumes have on other creatures. The feline smirks, showing off the things they've collected today. They ask if you'd like to help them find branches to wrap in gold later. Um, of course you would. You don't need to intervene, since it seems like it's only training. Training for what? You do not know. Their session ends when the dark brown cat flops over lazily, exhausted from the training. Their sparring partner lets out a huff, sitting down and scolding them for being so lazy. It's entertaining. After a couple minutes, one of them notices you and beckons you over. "You get it, right? After all this sparring, I'm just soooooo exhausted." "You're just lazy." The other cat huffs. They both turn to you, expecting you to pick a side. Uh.. well.. the boyz   THIS cat rolled: - Long Fur - Long Ears - Long Tail - Pale Fur - Fangs - Slit Pupils (they're everywhere huh) And no mutation! The two felines tilt their head up, staring at you for a minute before one smirks. "You are so bland. You could use a makeover." The other snorts. "Absolutely. I think we have paint leftover." They turn to you. "When we're done with you, you're going to look so flashy. Flashy enough to talk to us, that is." Woah. You didn't agree to this.. But you don't really have a choice. It's been a bit over an hour, and it seems like the cats are applying whatever colors they have onto your face. When they're done, you're 99% sure that you look like a clown.
