HOW TO: price check items

This is a simple guide (with screenshots) showing how to use Item Catalogue to look up prices in both Trading Center and Branches, all with one easy search.

Item values fluctuate a lot. Rather than relying on advice from other players which might or might not be accurate, you'll almost always get a quicker and more exact answer by looking up current lowest sale prices yourself. Here's how to do that, with each step circled in red:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

* Step 1: Go to Item Catalogue (via Crossroads) *

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

* Step 2: Enter search term in the item name box *

You can search for all or part of the name of an item
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

* Step 3: Check your results and click on an item *

You can also choose to use the dropdowns to filter results further, or stick to a generic search term if you want to see several things
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

* Step 4: Click on the Trades or Branches links *

Underlined in blue is some of the other useful info the item catalogue provides - it's not just for price checking! You can also see where items can be bought, as well as a basic description and more
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

* Step 5: View search results in TC/Branches *

The trading center - screenshot above - may sometimes not have existing trades with useful prices, as many players choose to sell items on their branches instead. It can also be more difficult to see the cheapest trades if there are a lot. Which is why checking branches - screenshot below - is often the easier way to price items. That's not an issue with this item though: there are only a few trades so it's easy to see the lowest price shown above is 5GB.

When searching branches it filters by cheapest first, except that SB is always before GB. So if there are lots of SB items you may need to flick through to later pages to see GB prices. But here you can see the lowest for each currency is clearly shown as 6000SB and 5GB respectively
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

NOTE: The important thing is to look at the cheapest current prices for the item. In general no buyer is going to pay higher than the lowest price - obviously! So 'average' price is really not relevant 99% of the time. If you want yours to sell (and especially if you want it to sell quickly) you'd need to match or undercut whatever the lowest is.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

* The end! *

If I've made any mistakes please let me know, or if you have questions about anything I didn't explain in enough detail then just ask :)

Please don't ask for specific price checks here though - the point of this guide is to show people how to do it for themselves <3
