COMPSCI STUDENT VS CHIMERA
hello and welcome to my newest thread, a compsci student vs. the chimera
if you couldn't tell by the title, i'm a computer science major* and obsessed with chimera animals. this mutation idea has been suggested many times and shot down due to coding logistics and such, but here i am, attempting to solve these problems so that maybe, just maybe, i can have a two faced lion.
besides, at this point i'm really looking for anything to do except my problem set and in an ideal world i could use this as my capstone project lmao
*i say kind of because computer science is a part of a mechatronic systems degree. technically i have to do software engineering courses, but a good majority of those classes are, well, computer science classes. plus i took ap computer science a in high school . so i would say i'm mildly qualified to do this
note to mods & devs: i will be making mutation roll and lion generation emulators specifically for this project. i couldn't find anything against this in the ToS but if this isn't allowed, i completely understand and will find another way to do this project. i will not be releasing this code for download to the general public out of respect for the lioden developer's time designing it themselves

good question! no , in this case chimera is not referring to the snake lion monster from mythology. from wikipedia:
"A genetic chimerism or chimera is a single organism composed of cells with more than one distinct genotype. In animals, this means an individual derived from two or more zygotes, which can include possessing blood cells of different blood types, subtle variations in form (phenotype) and, if the zygotes were of differing sexes, then even the possession of both female and male sex organs (this is just one of many different phenomena that may result in intersex conditions). Animal chimeras are produced by the merger of two (or more) embryos."

but what does this mean for lioden ? two lions smushed into one lineart, basically. because i'm a little bit lazy and have a tendency to cut corners (+ the fact that i haven't downloaded photoshop onto my new laptop yet), these are not my images

many, many, reasons
logistically it's a coding nightmare. from Xylax himself,
"The issue is that it would require two sets of lion information: Two bases, set of markings each, separate eye colours etc. Sounds like a very serious problem when coding the information - the extra tables have to be coded there, but not show up in normal lions. It is VERY difficult to do that."
there are obviously many, many more problems, and i'm asking you guys, the lioden community, to criticize the chimera idea. every possible problem you can think of, throw it at me. i'll compile a list of what i feel are the most important problems to address, and then address them. i want to see this mutation happen but the devs already have so much on their plate, might as well give them a little break :)
