In this section, you can find plenty of resources for web development (HTML and CSS). The most important tutorials and tools can be found here, however, we have a more extensive resource archive in our Discord, and we're working on creating a spreadsheet version for those who can't use Discord.

HTML Guide/Tutorial by Shu (#42)

• This is the best HTML guide on Lioden at the moment. It will walk you through everything you can do for HTML in forums.

Basic HTML on Lioden by ??? (#43698)

• A good starting point for HTML on Lioden; has all of the basic tags that you can use in forums. You'll have to manually remove the spaces though. Good place to quickly find the tags that you can use.

HTML Glossary by Codecademy

• A compilation of HTML terms and tags. Good for familiarizing yourself with some terms for later use, as well as for a tag reference.

• This article will help familiarize you with the things you'll be messing with using CSS. Some of these terms are more advanced, but the basics you need to know are everything up to Universal Selector.

Lioden CSS Tutorial/Template by katie (#106445)

• The best starting point for if you're trying to get into CSS on Lioden. Katie's template is easy to use, and she lays everything out very well.

Accessibility is a very important part of web development. Making sure that your page is safe for photosensitive people and feasibly readable is a bare minimum, especially the former--you can't put any warnings for your page before people click on it, after all! You don't have to completely gut your ideas into something boring for accessibility reasons, but there's some basic things that you should note.

Here are some (very basic) guidelines for making your webpage better for everyone!

• Make sure that your text is easily readable. Text that's too close to the background color or too bright may cause eye strain.
• Different elements have contrasting enough color to be easily differentiated.
• Use alternative text for your images. Learn how to implement alt text here.

These very basic guidelines were taken from this article, and there'll additional accessibility notes in the spreadsheet and resources. If anyone wishes to add onto this, it'll be noted!

Lioden Live Preview Editor by ryouta (#276513)

• A live preview editor for Lioden on Codepen! Lets you edit the CSS and immediately see any changes that happen.

Code Minifier/Beautifier/Formatter by Code Beautify

• This site will help you format your CSS (give it proper indentation and spacing) or minify it (remove all spaces to make it harder to read), making it a bit harder for code thieves to rip off your code. It also has a CSS validator, which will check your CSS for any syntax errors!

Hey there! Happy first anniversary, and thank you for your interest in joining the art contest! This is one of a few activities being planned--please check out the clan raffle if you haven't yet for a free ticket!

Info + Rules

The art contests subject is the lioDevs mascot, Cascade! References are provided further down this post. The submission deadline is September 26th, 12 AM LDT. The winners will be decided via a poll; on the 26th, a voting period will start and a poll will be announced in the Discord, here, and through a clan message. The voting period will end on September 29th, 12 AM LDT.

The only rules are that the art cannot be inappropriate (all art should be PG), and Cascade has to be the subject! (Also, although the official reference depicts Cascade as a lioness, they are nonbinary. Feel free to draw them with or without a mane!)

All submissions should be posted in this thread; either in a link or by using the image tag. Additionally, all art will be displayed in the lioDevs clan page and Discord!
