if people think this is too gory I'm not going to flesh it out so I won't add concept drawings YET but I was thinking of a funky little lethal idea.

Gastroschisis is, according to google: "Gastroschisis (pronounced gas-troh-skee-sis) is a birth defect where there is a hole in the abdominal wall beside the belly button. The baby's intestines, and sometimes other organs, are found outside the body, exiting through the hole." Essentially born inside out.
"But that's uncommon!"
So is every other lethal. But even still,
It's not so incredibly uncommon that it would be unreasonable to add, either. about 1 in every 1,953 babies are born each year with Gastroschisis! that's a lot. now, while babies can survive this with medical help, usually animals can't. they're typically humanely euthanized or die due to the mutation.

Basically, Gastroschisis is proven to show up in animals too.
