Because many people don't value them because they are a "cheap beginner pet" and also don't bother doing research. It's depressing to me because I believe every life has value and *every* pet deserves vet care, I don't care if you only paid $20 for it and it would be cheaper to just buy another one... x.x -Sincerely someone with 2 hamsters and a recent loss. I had a hamster named happy face that made an escape from his cage broke his leg from the fall and then got attacked by either the cat or dog cause he had a huge hole in his stomach and yet some how was still alive I don't even know how..... that's just one of the 7 I had 0 players like this post! I wasn't accusing anyone specific, it's just the majority belief of the human population when it comes to small mammals. And in the end it's your decision, but i think the best way to keep your hamsters safe is to not have any until you either get a new roommate or get away from your current one. It sucks but if that were me he/she/they/ve/whicheverpronoun? would Not want to be around the crazy woman who is more than willing to put his butt on the street to keep my babies safe.
