I've always liked cats because when I was little I would bring them home (the strays from outside). I don't know, just always felt like they needed me more. :)

i personaly prefer felines because i had 4 cats and they all brought a lot of joy in my life , sadly they all passed away , but i wanna adopt some kittens from shelter as soon as i can <3

definitely cats. Dogs aren't my thing. The slobber, the picking up their poop, THE SMELL. no. And I have a dog, so it's not like i'm basing my opinion off of stereotypes. I think cats are widely hated for the wrong reasons. People have a bad run in with a cat in the 4th grade and then carry that for the rest of their life like it's a near-death experience. Cats are sweet, kind creatures that honestly I find even more loyal than dogs. My cats ALL come when called, my dog doesn't, despite all of his training. Cats scratch and hiss only when they feel threatened, uncomfortable, or overstimulated. If you're petting a cat for 20 minutes straight it's going to start feeling uncomfortable. Contrary to popular belief- cats have whiskers all over their bodies that are very sensitive. Thats why prolonged petting or petting backwards is actually painful. I think if you don't know the ins and outs of feline behaviour you shouldn't have negative opinion on them because more likely than not you're mistreating them.

Cats also are way more clean and sanitary. Yes, some times they step in their poop or pee, and at thosE times you need to clean them up, but same goes for dogs. Cats tongues are mades for cleaning gunk, bacteria, and loose fur off of their bodies, this is a factual statistic: cats spend 50% of their waking lives grooming themselves. They are VERY clean. Case closed lmao

Growing up, I was a dog person. Loved my dogs! Miss my dogs! But now? Now I sit here writing this with a kitten on my chest, my special needs Maine Coon curled up on my legs, and just think “Well, I’m definitely a cat person now!” I own five snakes, two cats, and a lizard!

This was a topic I always couldn't decide on..We own both cats and a dog..I love animals so I can't decide and I doN't feel a need to..I love them both so much! ANd I miss the ones who died..
