The Outmost Lands
The Outmost Lands, commonly referred to as just "The Outmost" is what would be considered the savannah. The terrain is rarely traversed by members of The Holm Lowlands Pride, especially after the Late King Asmundsen came into power.

Achimah is the only lion from the pride that can be found traveling around these areas. At rare times, he may be seen patrolling with fellow submales or male adolescents by his side.

The Lowlands
As the name suggests, these are the so known wetlands that The Holm Lowlands Pride gets it name from, originally, this is the area the late King Denovin had established for the pride. Familiar enough to the common lion while still requiring some knowledge to move around.

The area itself goes on for miles, sometimes making it not worth it for the common hunter to move deeper into. This is even more of a challenge if said hunter is not aware of where they are within said place.

It is said that the late King Denovin passed in these grounds due to old age. According to King Achimah, the pride kept its name in honor of his grandfather.

If anything, it tends to confuse those that try to look for the pride.

The Edge
The area that separates the wetlands from the swamp-like mangrove.
Cubs within The Holm Lowlands are strictly prohibited from stepping into said area. On the other hand, this is the area adolescents are introduced to as soon as they come of age, but unfortunately not allowed from stepping farther out unless an adult is present.

Lionesses commonly go through this area if they wish to hunt the more uncommon game.

As for strangers, the King will be more than willing to move them away from such area if they come bearing trouble. Of course depending the situation, the King will adjust to it as so.

Innerland
The swamp-like mangroves themselves, heavy in flora and waters that a newcomer may not be advised to touch. Members within Holm Lowlands have adapted themselves to traveling the odd and slippery terrain, knowing that a wrong step in the murky waters can lead to fighting off a meat eating fish or crocodile.

As for the one where the pride is located, it isn't easy to really know where they may actually be. Coats bathed in shades of brown help them stray farther into the Innerlands undetected.

Heartlands
The Heartlands are made out of a tight line of mangroves trees that divide it from what is known as the Innerland. In a way it all seems connected by a sand pathing that usually gets flooded in a somewhat thin layer of murky water.

Lowland Lions have adapted themselves in different ways to traverse these areas confidently in their adulthood.
Sleeping areas are made out of clusters of roots, branches and leaves alike to be turned into large nests. The large roots from the mangrove trees serve as support to keep anyone above the water.

Cubs are encouraged to stay within the Heartlands as they learn how to move around. Newborns, on the other hand, are to be kept in a nest specifically made for their safety where the broodmothers will rest at as well.

"Food shall be eaten by the order of honor."
Adolescents honor the young and their mothers.
Lionesses honor their offspring and female lineage.
The King honors himself, his queen and wives.
Cubs lives will not be endangered and will not hunt until their young adolescence.

"To ensure the future of the pride, a pregnant lioness
must not leave the Heartlands until pregnancy is taken to completion."
In the past, under the late King Denovin's reign, a pregnant lioness becoming injured wasn't as uncommon and due to this, future litters were lost. After Asmundsen noticed the repetition of such events, he completely disallowed hunting during such life event.

"A lioness in heat shall not leave the Heartlands."
To avoid the unwanted visitor, only until the heat is over or taken care of, may the lioness go beyond the Heartlands once more.

"All sons will be trained as if they were running for the crown."
Giving a chance to the Lowland lion blood is more than important, sons will be encouraged to make a pride of their own, but must leave the Heartlands as soon as young adulthood arrives.

"All daughters are to stay within the pride until they decide to leave or become a hunter."
A daughter is an important asset to any pride, their freedom will not be removed and will be honored with the role of a hunter that will teach generations to come.

"A Queen will always be singular, only she, who carries the rank, has word over any lioness."
It is a Queen's duty to look after the female lineage, the safety of the daughters and wellbeing of the hunters will fall upon her paws.

"It will be the King's duty to look after his wives."
A lioness within the harem will eat whatever the King hunts.
In times of sickness, the King must ensure the lioness makes a full recovery.

"A lion's death will be honored."
In the time of an accidental death, it will be shamed upon the King and only he will be to blame.
If the lion dies of old age, the King must stay by their side until it is for certain that they are dead.

"The loyalty of the living body will remain after death, their burial will be honored as they will protect us for seasons to come."
The burial of the lioness will be dignified with bravery, their body will remain underground within The Edge, as they will encourage future lionesses on their hunt.

The burial of a daughter will be dignified with knowledge, their body will remain underground within The Innerland, as they will encourage aspiring hunters.

The burial of a son will be dignified with strength, their body will remain underground within The Lowlands, they will aid the late King Denovin and protect the pride of intruders.

The burial of a cub will be dignified with innocence, their body will remain underground within The Heartlands, they will keep company to those who open their eyes for the first time.

The burial of a traitor will be looked down upon, their body will remain above land in the The Outmost for the hyenas and vultures to feed upon.

TRADITIONS

Rite of The Hunter
(Adolescent Female)
Daughters are to be taught to hunt as soon as adolescence arrives. The Rite of The Hunter will occur on their third (3rd) hunt, where they join a group of hunting lionesses.
The rite is considered complete when they return home with a small game carcass in their maw.

Path of The Seeker
Adolescent (Male)
Sons must have keen eyes and sharp senses despite the conditions. The Path of The Seeker will occur on the night of the Full Moon, where after multiple patrolling outings alongside King, they will be put to the test on what they have learned. The son will go out and patrol The Lowlands by themselves, they are to return upon sunrise unscarred.

Blessing of Amias
Adolescent (Female) turning Adult
All daughters becoming adults must take part in The Blessing of Amias.
This event only occurs on the night of the New Moon where they must walk and drink from a sacred lake within the Heartlands, once the moon's reflection is upon the lake's surface. It is said that they will be protected by all harm that may come to any future litters they may bear.

The Blessing of Amias is considered complete once they walk out of the sacred lake.

The First Lowland King, King Denovin
deceased
A kind and caring King that became forced to make harsh decisions when
the time called for it.

His faults were never looked down upon apart from the unfortunately accidents.

Lives were lost due to the sudden change. No planning was done and the pride suffered more than ever after the Great Hunger that he had managed to heal beforehand. King Denovin passed of old age, a peaceful death thankfully. His spirit seems to rest within The Lowlands, where it is said that he will guard the future of the pride.

Late King Asmundsen

A responsibly strict but loved King. It is for certain that this lion treasured the pride's safety over everything, trying his best to fix his father's poor decisions.

He did manage to do it if anything.

Thanks to King Asmundsen's reign, the pride has adapted its ways of survival. Uncommon for lions to live in a mangrove-like environment, but not an impossible feat and while it took years to overcome, the pride seems to be thriving in its current time.
Things could be improved and even modernized, but at an old age, King Asmundsen has left a great foundation for the next King to improve upon.

King Achimah
alive
A young king with an affinity for all things water. There is much to do and with the lack of experience, this job may even be too much to handle for Achimah. Other than that, he is well loved and encouraged to move forward with the pride.


Unfortunately an air of worry follows him whenever he goes nowadays, such a hobby become a way of life and possible future of his pride, otherwise it could become his demise.
