When aiming to get very specific markings to pass WITHOUT having both a lion and lioness with the same marking/same slot, will I have better chances if I remove any and all other markings the lioness and the stud have?

Or will that simply result in more markingless Cubs then anything else?

(I'm aware of how Rosettes specifically tend to be harder to pass, I'm just looking into wether or not my lions having multiple markings that are not the ones I want is hurtful to my chances to pass markings I DO want)

Marking only checks the same slot it is in, so marks in all other slots are not affecting the chances. Only same slot marks matter; so if slot is taken on the other lion, clear it so it doesnt pass instead.
Tho I personally prefer to remove other unwanted marks off the lion; it makes it easier to see if the wanted marks passed/not passed, than having to read through all the markings determining the wanted ones.

Last time I checked, opacity had nothing to do with passing rates; 1% and 100% should pass with the same 50% chance.

So as long as (example) I have the marking I want in Slot one on the stud and NO Marking in slot one on the lioness I'm doing the best I can to pass that wanted marking beyond using items?

Good to know I was worried I might have to buy a lot of marking removers XD

This is the official "how marking passing works" notice.

If you have one parent with a marking in that slot, the odds of it passing are 50% (excluding rosettes and hybrid exclusive mottled markings, those have their own passrates)

If you have parents that each have a marking, it's 75% chance to pass to the cub, split between the parents' markings. If they're the same, then this is the better option, if they are different, then it is the worse option.

It sounds like your best option is to remove the undesired marking.

I hope that helps!

Ohhh hm well, I think I might work on removing any of the undesirable markings from my lion/lionesses then just incase it IS working against me because I want the best possible pass rates bc I'm already on a wing and prayer tryna pass rosettes - I need all the possible pass rate boosting I can possibly give my lions X'D

idk if opacity changes things but on my kings markings with 100% opacity seem to pass down a lot even BO ones
