Okay, so I don’t hate it!! I’m also not throwing shade on your work, I just feel like this base doesn’t scream supernova to me. It reminds me more of peacock ore, bornite and colorful shale like rocks. Unsure if you’ve ever seen any dull rainbow looking rocks but that’s what it reminds me of. Super over to me is more smooth, vibrant and swirled into other colors instead of seemingly grainy, duller and chunked together. It is still relatively pretty but also reminds me of rust in a way. I just think it’s more of a mineral/rock base theme than supernova. 0 players like this post! Like? |

https://imgur.com/a/BUWBSBI these were the references used to make this base suggestion! :) i do admit it might look like a nebula too, but i feel like the base captures the colors of both phenomenons pretty well. Perhaps it is too desaturated but if it was anymore saturated then it already is... well it would become an eye strain, which is not something that i would want (I was also told this base works well for colorblind eyes, so i do not really want to change that! :D) Anyways, im not saying you hate it at all, i wanted more informations, thank you so much! :) although i would deffinitively not use the word... I would use dull. Dull doesn’t mean it’s a bad design or a plain design, it just means the colors are dull/not as vibrant. Also the link didn’t work there for Imgur, and I’m not saying you need to or should change anything. I was just explaining why it feels less ‘supernova’ to me and more mineral like. Dull, by deffinition in art would talk about brightness. if i am not wrong you are talking about saturation, yes? Dull would therefore not be the proper term in this context :) Thank you for the feedback, have a lovely evening :) 0 players like this post! Like? |

Uh yeah that’s what I am talking about, which is what I mean. Just my opinion  I looked at some photos of supernovas and nebulas and I just personally don’t feel that this fits the idea very well and is more dull, or less saturated as your putting it, than the photos I saw. 0 players like this post! I'm not saying you're wrong nor that you have no place in saying this i completely understand what you mean and what you are implying, i am not talking about how it doesnt feel like a supernova to you anymore at all.  i am just saying that "dull" has been seen as an isult quite often in artistic works, and when not used to reference brightness, it is used to imply being boring or lacking interest. Again, i am not saying it is what you meant, nor that it is how i took it, i am just saying some would take it that way and there are other ways to put it in order to avoid a negative reaction from someone else! :) <3 0 players like this post! I completely understand your view! Thank you for your opinion :) This in fact made me make a design! This base would work best with seal/noctis/cimmerian and cream/bone/white markings! But it also goes very well with neutron, blue poinsettia and briar markings! <3 0 players like this post! Like? |
