Hey there! I tried looking at the wiki for this but I couldn't find anything, so if I missed it just let me know So how do marking genetics work? Obviously some markings pass easier than others (rosettes) but does opacity affect pass rate? Also, do markings always pass in the same slots as the parents or do they randomize (I also know this can be different with rosettes but what about the normal marks)? Is there anything else important I need to know? I want to work towards breeding a NRLC eventually :) Thank you so much! 2 players like this post! Like? |

SO markings are actually pretty straight-forward Markings do not change slots, so if you have a marking in slot 6 it CANNOT move to another slot (unless the other parent has one in a different slot). Everything below will reference/follow this rule If BOTH parents have the same marking in the same slot, there is a 75% of it passing onto the cub. If only one parent has this marking, there is a 50% chance of it passing. Rosettes, of course, can randomly show up in any slot, regardless if the parents have it. If one of the parents has a rosette, I think the pass rates are a little bit lower than the above percentages Opacities are averaged between parents within a +/- 10 range. For example, if parent A has a 60% marking, and parent B has a 30% marking, the cub will have anywhere between 20-70%. This information has helped immensely with my colorbombs, so if you ever want to breed opaque cubs be sure to use 100% parents! Hope this helps! I had to search for a while to get this far. Some of this info was only mentioned in a news post from years ago lmao so I understand the struggle 5 players like this post! Like? |
