I'm planning to stud in the future and I'm a little confused on how sending items with a request works.

The wiki says they will be used automatically if you accept the request. Does that mean you don't have to do anything at all?

Also, if you at first get to their (the one sending the item) request, and then without having an successful breeding to another lioness (for whatever reason), could it be that the effect gets used on her instead?

Last question: if the item has only one use and you have an unsuccessful breed, does the item still affect the eventually successful breed?

Sorry if this is obvious, I just don't want to accidentally waste some items
