I've been playing Wolvden lately and it's actually made me think about the early days of Lioden again. I had some fun looking at very first news posts all the way up til when I joined in August 2014. Any old people want to reminisce and share experiences? It's hard to believe I joined after the very first Celestial event, considering how popular it became! I remember getting a lioness with Celestial Speckles, Starshine eyes and White Underfelt and I thought she was the best thing EVER. I changed her base to Onyx. I also remember thinking Inferno was way too bright and weird.  The most "extreme" base we had before that was Maroon.Incidentally, does anyone actually remember or know when Lioden left beta? I hadn't thought about this much before, but after playing more WD, it crossed my mind. I can't glean a lot from the old news posts. The very first news post is it about it entering beta but I don't know if it's an open or closed beta. It looks like the oldest non-staff accounts are roughly August 2012 but the very first (archived) news post is from March 2013.  0 players like this post! Like? |

I am not as old of a player as many of the people on this thread (I like to call myself a "middle aged" player), however, a lot has changed since. To name a few examples of new and changed features that I recall: *The introduction of caves *The introduction of more than 10 markings/hidden markings *the old claiming system *the old battling system (it hasn't changed much) *The old chatrooms *Whack-a-Snake prior to its removal *The introduction of battle beetles *The release of the games: Whack-a-Snake, Serengeti Shuffle and Reptile Roundup. Players from 2020 still feel very new to me, despite it having been a few years back. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Yeah, players from 2020 feel very new to me too. It probably doesn't help that I've taken a couple hiatuses from the game around 2017-2020, but still, yeah. I always forget battle beetles exist. I don't care for them much personally but I feel like I should start raising some to farm their materials for crafting. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I've taken a lot of hiatuses since 2020 so I feel that. Tbh I never wanted beetle battles - I always wanted the Display case vote that went around for a while. I'd rather collect and display them. Also I didn't even know that Whack a Snake got removed lol 0 players like this post! Like? |
