In a group of four-eared cats studied in 1957, in addition to duplicated ears, the eyes were reduced in size, the jaw was slightly undershot and the cats were relatively inactive and lethargic. Researchers believed that the functioning of the brain was affected. Breeding data indicated it was most often lethal with kittens dying in utero. The majority of recently reported four-eared cats have been healthy with various ear configurations suggesting other genes were involved or developmental abnormalities rather than hereditary factors."

My Idea

personally, I would like this to be a non-lethal mutation. As there are cats that are able to live with this mutation, but I think it would be interesting if there was a lethal and non-lethal version.

Non-Lethal Vers

The non lethal version would just include the four ears, no other visable deformities.

Lethal Vers

When a cub with the lethal version of this mutation is born, on the cub's page the user will be greated with the message,
" This cub has a extra set of ears, but seems less fussy than the others in their litter. The mother seems concerned."
The cub will have smaller eyes and a undershot jaw, alongside the four ears. They will pass before they reach 5 mo.


*I'm not very familiar with genetics and mutations, and I don't know if anyone else has proposed a similar idea. This is just my own musings. Feel free to add your own input regarding this! Also I don't think this is in the game, but if it is then I'm just silly lol!*
