Her body shook at his unnatural voice, trying to ignore the trembling that shook her body viciously and horridly, to the point where even the flames that grew unnaturally along her back began to seemingly shake as her body did, mimicking her in a sort of way. The flames danced, casting shadows as they twisted and turned and grew.

‘ Hi. ,’ despite Thalia not being welcoming to strangers; creatures seemed to be an exception to this. Perhaps because she grew up listening to the tales of how, although she had been attacked by creatures her whole life and they were the ones who slaughtered the past Haven, The Sanctuary, she began to pin the blame elsewhere, on the people that attracted the monsters.

Ever since she was a pup, her mother told her the tale of how the sanctuary fell apart, by none other than the hands of the very people that were welcomed into it so kindly. Although Thalia’s mother, Amber, was a kind soul who held good over evil, and always believed justice would prevail, Thalia still was fueled by ego and anger. Due to this nature, she twisted the story into her own view of how things happened. Her mother said it went down like this:

One fateful day, when The Sanctuary had a flush of new carnivore-mammals joining their ranks, a fight broke out over something silly that could have been solved upon them simply talking it out calmly, a wolf was arguing with one of the descendants of the founders, and one of the head of The Sanctuary, when their powers got involved, causing such a loud ruckus that it attracted packs of creatures, and ended up in a bloodshed that lasted a span of several hours; of screams and crying as other mourned over their loved ones body, tears painted in blood as animals wailed and screamed in agony as they were either slaughtered or forced to watch as others were.

Amber was one of the first ones to fight back. She used her special power of causing heat and overwhelmed the creatures, as although they were immune to fire, they could still be exhausted and overwhelmed by the irritating feeling of being burned despite being immune. Although, Amber proved to quickly be overwhelmed, herself. She fought and fought, but it seemed for every creature she slayed two more would appear and killed her comrades. That was until Aether entered the field. He made a team, several of the largest animals with powers that were made for their designated task guided the remaining survivors away, all while they were given a small ‘group’ of guards to protect them and keep the number of creatures at bay. Finally, Aether would extend his ‘force-field’ across The Sanctuary, willing the ground to create spikes hat would eliminate the creatures immediately, and one by one they had begun to won.

Finally, after what felt like days of grueling hours, they emerged victors, although the true problem seemed to lay in the remaining survivors, as more pointless fights broke out, and mother bloodshed took place, killing off over half of the ones that had survived the initial wave of creatures. However, Amber and Aether were still alive, traveling together and creating The Haven, which is the improved version of The Sanctuary.

Because of the fact that Thalia viewed that the animals had been their own demise, she began to despise them, and during that time, it was as though she remained . . . Neutral towards the creatures, and would have an easier time bonding with them than she did other animals.

‘ um . . . Want some food? I can cook it myself. ,’ Thalia spread her fire, knowing that the creature was immune, yet could still feel the warmth. ‘ its my power, fire. ,’ she gave a grin, still not completely sure on what to do in this type of situation.

Before hopping back to her home, Puawai peeked around the corner to see if that vicious vixen was still there. To her surprise, she was, except this time.. she was frolicking with a creature? "Of course, she'll yell at me, but be kind to some creature." The wallaby rolled her eyes. "Whatever." They mumbled, though something inside her forced her to remain where she was and continue to watch the fox and level one creature from afar.

Aspen looked over the landscape from a high rock, Andromeda dragging behind her, panting "Aspen! How are you so... Fast?" Aspen giggled. "Ah, well, it's not speed, it's stami-" she was cut short by a beautifully familiar scent. She leaped off the rock and sprinted towards the scent. "Where are you going now?!" Andromeda groaned, and with a sigh, limped after her.

Aspen sprinted through a forest, startling many rabbits into their holes. "Mystique! Mystique!" She tripped on a root and went careening into the air, where a very startled bird squawked at her, before crashing to the ground, unconscious. She slid into a hole under a tree, hidden by roots. Andromeda still shouted faintly, but Aspen was too far to hear.
