Please read briefly before voting or commenting.POST IS MEANT TO BE READ BY PC USERS. TURN HORIZONTALLY FOR EASIER PHONE READING This is a continuation to my previous thread, which got alot of backlash from people who didn't understand my concept. In this post, I'll explain with detailed, edited images for better understanding. Have you ever accidentally posted a stud advertisement too early, is that roar button just a bit too close to your keyboard? Mayhaps you've once put a stud ad in the wrong chat. Happens to the best of us. * 1. Community Interaction 1.22B. "b) Posting sales posts in the chat anywhere other than on the Sales channel. This includes posts that may hint at potential sales." My proposal.
Step 1._____________________________________________________________________________________________ Here's a demonstration. In this image, we're in the main chat, where advertisements aren't meant to be posted. In the text box (marked red), I've made a little example of what someone would put into there. For example: If someone would want to put their lion in the chat to share, that little message would be a placeholder. Here comes the issue: People post their studs in chat, alot. I know from experience... Back when I was a noob, I'd always post my stud in there and pretend this was an accident (Example). This would bring my account standing down after a few times, and I'd like to prevent that with my proposal. Step 2.______________________________________________________________________________________________ This little notification would pop up, much like the NCL claiming menu if you choose "Slap", "Autoclaim" or "leave", It would ask you if you were sure. This message would only occur in chats that ARENT meant for advertising. If you're sure of your decision, and you'd like to post your lion in main chat, then you'd click continue. If you find yourself accidentally posting your stud in the main chat, you'd click cancel. I feel as though this would help the accidental advertisement alot, and it'd be easy to see who intentionally bypass this message. _______________________________________________________________________________________________ What's deemed right/wrong by this threadRight!:^^ This example above me makes appropriate use of the function I proposed. Although this lion is for studding, their intention is still to show their lion off; Not to advertise, so for this example the "Continue" button MAY be used. WRONG:This person bypassed the notification intentionally. This is not appropriate usage of this feature, as they continued to post this even when the message told them it's not the right channel. NOTE: these are edited screenshots of myself. Other people I made screenshots of aren't targeted! The "person" I refer to in my examples is just myself inspecting my own chat messages to fit the example. |

I am no expert in coding but while this is def a nice suggestion I just think it would be incredibly hard to implement. The easiest way would be for a notif for any links as you would able to implement a filter for set criteria that link addresses would have. However for the filter to know something is up for studding would require it to have a catalogue of all lions available for studding which would have to be built in a way that it can automatically stay updated. While they *might* be able to use already build foundation that we have in the search feature it is kinda a lot for a problem that is already handled by the moderation team. To the other comments I do think a 'request deletion' button would be nice like we have in the forums however chats generally move too quickly for it to really be useful and I imagine u would still be told the rules by mods as some people might try to use the function to post then request deletion getting to advertise and then hiding behind the fact that they made a mistake "see I asked for it to be deleted" Mistakes happen and are embarrassing, I sometimes will try to post in the sales chat and forget the link and then not post for the rest of the day outta humiliation. But the onus is on you the individual to make sure you are in the right channel, post the right thing, check your own posts Again I think this is a cool idea I just think it would be an absolute nightmare to code 0 players like this post! Support! They already make it impossible to post lions up for trade in chat and other stuff— so why not give a quick lil pop up? We all know people purposely post sales in main all the time and it would help mods find the rule breakers, too! Great idea 1 player likes this post! Like? |
