Yeah what's allowed and not allowed towards rl winners is very unclear and selective lmao. If staff is going to turn off pms but not trades they should expect people to send trades, this second step of disallowing trades but not enforcing it and not just turning off trades is illogical and literally just creates trouble and work

they need to cut all unfair contact entirely so that way the winner themself can make the decision of whether or not to look thru tc/threads for offers or simply remain to themselves it never made sense why transfers/trades were unlocked & now chat boxes given u cant dm someone,, but lets comment on their page instead

I can't even imagine how confusing it must be for the winners?? They can't get PMs, but they're getting trades and transfers and a bunch of comments on their den? It really doesn't make sense

Maybe I'm just some newbie still learning, but I don't understand why the turn off trade's/transfer's like they do with PM's wasn't already a thing since they know/knew people do that type of thing so I support this honestly.

I've never won a RL (cry) so I'm not sure how it works on that end. But I think it would be neat if, especially for newer players who don't know how to toggle/un-toggle features like PMs, trades, etc., once they rollover for the first time since winning, they receive a pop-up notification stating that direct communication to them has been disabled, and include buttons or links to press that can re-enable them right there if they choose. Of course, it should also include a warning along the lines of "You may receive many messages/trades/whatever regarding the Special Lioness you won. Are you sure you wish to re-enable your messages/trades?"

At the core of this issue is the fact that RLs are the only way to spread new Tier 2 traits, outside of once a year Groupies and RMAs, which are literal gambling. RLs worked for a small site, but they do not work now. They have not worked since I joined in 2019, and from what I've heard, they hadn't been working for ages.

Another thing is, that it seems like they just keep adding features to encourage getting around the PM block. Den Comments are the biggest example of this. They also don't tell the users anything about why this lioness is special. Her name is Special Lioness, but to your average new player who just got to Dreamboat and got lucky, there's nothing special about her. They don't always have special bases, they don't always have rosettes, or other desirable traits a new player would be able to identify as new. How is a player supposed to know that the lioness with, say, Lilac Quail Flecks is special? They've been seeing Quail Flecks from explore all month, surely it can't be that important of a marking if they can get them on regular old NCLs. The message you get when you win an RL just says that no one can tell you what to do with your lion, which, while true, it also is the most unhelpful 'helpful' message I've seen.



They should add that the Raffle Lionesses can have new markings, special bases, markings that are only on them. They should add that RLs are considered insanely valuable and that the player may get offers from others wanting to buy her and her heats. They should add that Crunchy Worms can be used to clone the lioness, to get more lions that look like her, maybe even gift a free Crunchy Worm to the winner in the message. They should also add a mechanic that keeps Special Lionesses from being chased/killed/reserved, because while that hasn't happened to my knowledge, I doubt it'll stay as a hypothetical forever.
There should be a lot more information given in this letter, as well as a lot more protections given to them, such as disabled Den Comments, disabled trades/transfers, etc. Though, honestly, I also think it's kind of bullshit that you can get bonked from mods for privately messaging someone once if they'd like to sell their lion, but that is an entirely different discussion for an entirely different day and has nothing to do with Raffle Lionesses in this context.

If they're not going to block all of it, they shouldn't block any of it. The removal of the messaging just felt like a way to punish all BO breeders and RLC breeders for the select few that were harassing RL winners. Instead of actually doing something about the harassment and finding a way to shut it down for good, they took a half-assed measure that, if anything, results in MORE stress because half of the users winning don't know how to re-enable PMs, or what to do with the mounds of trade offers and transfers they receive.

I absolutely agree with this. When the chatboxes first came out I brought this issue up in the modbox and it was a shrug of the shoulder. All that was given was, "We will mention it to the developers but they are able to be turned off."

If one way is blocked, then all the other ways should be blocked too. Comment boxes are essentially a way of harassing the winner, same for transfers/trades. The trades being open has led to SEVERAL raffle lioness winners being scammed for the lion. A lot of us can agree the system seems to favor newer players when it comes to the aspect of who the RL goes to, and these players don't realize how much the lion they hold is worth. If a trade is made to them, it is easy to see some apps and go, "Oh!!" to them and immediately take that trade, as they don't know any better. They don't know if its a 500SB worth app over a 100GB app. Blocking options like transfers/trades will prevent any scamming and harassing from happening.

Support, and definitely also agree with Jester that the message sent to winners should include more detailed information about what raffle lionesses are, why they are valuable, and how to make the most of them, so the winner doesn't get taken advantage of.

I can see where the devs are coming from in disabling messages, since unexpectedly waking up to dozens of messages from many different people (*some* of whom might be rude, demanding, or trying to shortchange you) can feel very overwhelming, especially for a newer or more casual player. But this loophole defeats the point in a way, making it even more likely someone will try to take advantage of them, only now in secret

As someone who would *REALLY* like to win a RL someday, I would like this - I always try to enter and win the RL but I'm always scared of winning for that reason - I have really bad anxiety and so many people contacting me all at once over the same thing would probably end with me having a freakout.

I also have a warning that will go up on my den page if it ever does happen (This is strongly worded) to try and discourage harassment (something I've experienced IRL and would rather not go through again) which will stay up until I figure out how to switch off trades/transfers - even after that, part of the warning will stay up.

This is definitely an issue that needs to be addressed, especially since the addition of comment boxes. I remember looking up one of the most recent rls, and a pretty new player had won her. Their comment box was absolutely crammed with messages, some intimidating, and some that had good intentions but unwarranted either way.
