Shimmering swirls of mist wind and writhe around your paws like semi-translucent snakes, almost as cold as the scaley creatures themselves, as you pad forward. Barely noticeable, the dried grass and dirt of the savannah underpaw gives way to sand, coarser, soft particles that get in between your toes and make a soft scratching sound beneath your paws. The rhythmic sound of waves reaches your ears from somewhere to your right, the smell of salt and the surf reaching your nostrils as a shadowy figure approaches you through the mist.

For a moment you're sure that it must be a rival male here to challenge you, for the shape is so big, almost as large as yourself, but as the massive feline steps from their cloak of mist you can quite obviously see she is indeed a lioness. Perhaps it was the smell of the ocean that confused you, or maybe it's the fact that she is a Primal female with a well-muscled form. Despite her intimidating appearance and bobbed tail, all coated in fur as blue as the ocean with speckled spots of colorful coral, she smiles at you.

"Well hello there traveler, I am Fiercetooth, Guardian of the Shrouded Cove" the lioness dips her head to you and bows elegantly before she rises to her paws and addresses you once more. "I see that your paws have led you to my humble beach, why have you come today? Is it perhaps that you seek to take in one of our younglings?" Only now do you notice the sounds beneath the waves, excited and energetic mews and laughs of cubs mixed in with the shouts of older adolescents.

You take a step forward into the mist, Fiercetooth following a step behind you, and all at once the mist dissipates and you can see the cove clearly. Beside the shimmering waves and sugar sand beach are lots of young lions and lionesses, some so young they still wobble on their legs, some old enough to resemble adults with scruffy manes and elegant figures. The sound of laughter fills the air before silence follows at your arrival and all eyes are on you.

"I know that my kings would be very grateful if you too some of our little ones, they need a good home. Sadly our pride has grown so large so that we must leave our pridelands in search of food, leaving us to migrate after the herds. Many of our lionesses are mothers and fear for the safety of their offspring, so they leave them here with me where they are hidden. Anyone smart and lucky enough to find us is offered the opportunity to take in some of our young, and our gratitude as well. You may even take some of our denmothers if you so wish, for they tire of traveling."

Fiercetooth falls silent to let this all sink in as some of the younglings begin to creep toward you, curiosity and hope in their gentle eyes. One young male breaks away from the others and darts over to you in order to fling himself upon your back with a grin. It seems that this is all the other cubs needed before they too get over their initial hesitance and rush forward to dance around your paws, play with your mane and tail, and bombard you with greetings and questions.

"So then, whom do you wish to take with you?" They are all so cute, how could you possibly choose?
