Aww, I understand! Thankfully they're just pixels and not real, so there's no harm in saving your carcasses like this. You'll get way more use out of your food like this! You just have to make sure you remember to feed them on the day they hit 60% so you don't have to bother with reclaiming.

You can shred carcasses into meat chunks go to hoard and clcik on em and it should give u the option

Shredding into chunks is exclusive to some events, because meat chunks are needed for their storyline's quests. Its not available year-round. Plus, when shredded, the food will loose a lot of how much it feeds a lion - small meat chunks feed only 8%, zebra carcass feeds 60% hunger. If you shred a full use zebra carcass, you will get just 6 uses of small meat chunks, loosing a huge deal of food it provides.

The only way to use the food effectively is to feed lions once every few days.

That is incorrect, Duck. That is only during one event, that is not all the time.

You cannot split carcasses unfortunately.
