If you’re wondering about this in the factor of studding, then it heavily depends on others preferences! Either way, if someone likes the look of your king, they will stud to him.
I will add that Orchid does have a combo base that can be bred from it (Rime base), so that may bring more people to stud him bc of that!
If you’re not so worried about studding, I’d say just go with whichever you like best :}

Okay this comes from a person with a mandarin king (https://www.lioden.com/territory.php?id=142699) -- Mandarin is PAIN to breed. Even a (non tigon) mandarin x mandarin chance is 2% to pass. However the base is super pretty and my favorite base rn ^^'

So I think it comes down to a few things without seeing the heirs:
- How unique your heir is (is there similar studs already out there?)
- How do you feel about mass-breeding or using worms just to pass the base?
- Orchid might be a "cheaper" base, but it also might sell better + the base will drop more often than mandarin
