I'm not sure you understand the point we're trying to make here -- a clone of your king could become very overpowered very fast and crash the market. say, what if I had a 8x rosette king that I wanted to clone? okay. I get the item. my king clones. now I have another 8x rosette lion. I clone my king again. and again. until I have a bunch of 8x rosette cubs. I sell them for, like, 1k+ gb each. now I am overly rich and the market is now full of 8x rosettes, which were once prized and rare lions, but not anymore thanks to me! what happens then? prices drop, market crashes, disaster.
what solution do you propose

Crunchy Worms already are RNG based. It's not supposed to be easy to get a clone, even with an item that boosts the chances. It would be better if it stayed hard because some people spent a lot of time and money (real or not) into breeding projects. If you want to have a female clone of your king, just breed to a lioness with 0 markings and hope you get lucky. Sex change if necessary.

okay but if I sold just one 8x rosette or another super rare lion I cloned from my king I get more funds to buy even more of those male crunchies, so it kinda rules out the "cloning is rare" thing because I could keep repeating the process until I get more clones

If the cloning itself was very rare in the first place....then that's exactly the system we have now. For something to be rare, it needs to rely on RNG.
