I have noticed with other events as well but this one is SUPER noticeable.

Can we please stop changing the encounter rates in explore when certain quests are active.

Multiple times I'll have the "Defeat 10 Large or Small (Non-Lion) Felines" from Bast. Three to four full energy bars later, not one non-lion feline. Next day? 5 show up in one energy bar.

The same thing happened with the "Defeat 15 Lions", suddenly no extra lions were being encountered and the only lion were lionesses. Then the next roll over when the quests have reset, suddenly I get 5 male lions show up in a row.

Then there are these new quests which from my cursory searching has the same issue where they encounters needed DO NOT SHOW UP.

I shouldn't have to spend 800sb daily just to get a quest that CAN be completed.

EDIT: Just updated to include September quests. Would probably just be applicable to ALL quests done for the months that have them.
It's been 4 days and I've just gotten into double digits for omens.

100% support this - I got lucky with the snake-eyed-lions the first time but unless the quest is kill 10snakes/20 enemies, I swap it til its one of those two. Anything else is just a complete waste of energy and its annoying that its super obvious the rates plummet!!

Normally I would say anything of this nature is just confirmation bias, but it does genuinely feel like the encounter rate tanks lol, lion encounters are usually not rare

As you said the only encounter is a lioness, which... also lowers your karma when you fight them. So Good karma kings are just getting fucked.

I'd kind of like to test it, actually. It might be confirmation bias, because I can't fathom why this would even be a "feature".

So I decided to write down what encounters I get. My quest was to destroy 10 statues. I had 3 x 100% use of Energy.
I found ONE Statue. Only 6 Slithering Minions for a total of 12 whole KB.

I'm sorry, but this event really sucks and honestly really makes me not want to play.
Either boost the encounters or admit that the encounter rates change depending on which quest is active. Cause this is near unplayable.

Considering you get 100% energy every 2.5 hours with how bad the encounter rate is for this quest you will need to wait 67.5 hours to complete this quest WITHOUT any energy-boosting items.

These quests in their current forms are IMPOSSIBLE for people without GB/hoards of energy items to complete. Honestly this is disheartening to see and how would newer players feel, considering they wouldn't even be able to complete the quest.

I definitely support buffing encounter rates when quests are active.

I don't think the fact that most, if not all users are fighting any and all snakes they see was taken into account when designing these quests & their rates. Not counting the energy cost of the step to discover the fight, that's 10% per fight, which can easily end up losing out of 40% of your energy per bar. Given energy regenerates at 10%/15min, that's an hour's worth of waiting gone*. And if you work, have other commitments/ect where you can't actively play, that's cutting into valuable time.

I started out giving some of the passives a chance, but.... yeah I think I'm going to keep refreshing until I get the snakes/20 enemies, since I need those kb. which is sad, because some of them look interesting and like they contribute to the story! I want to try them out! but having 10kb on the line with the low chance just stresses me out unfortunately. (ik ik I could always take a new one with the risk of not completing the daily but... 10kb is 5-10 snakes worth, man, i want that)

*(Not counting the daily free energy boost/pies/ect, but for the casual player)

ALso only tangentially related but :handshake: the statue one is atrocious for whatever reason. I had that one.... for about 3-4 energy bars I want to say? one (1) whole statue. by the time I reshuffled it was too late for me to make the quest for the day :(

12 hours waiting on a single cultist encounter. Didn't let a single energy bar go to waste.

And then I finally said 'screw it' and started the kill 10 slithering minions quest

With the base app prices still so absurdly high, it shouldn't be this hard to complete a daily quest. Especially when the slithering minion encounters also seem suspiciously scarce when any quest is active.

Omg yes!! I always take another quest, like bast, stop it

It makes me so mad bc I really want the bast bases, some to sell and at least *one* to keep for myself as I’m a major pink lion based fan, I want to make a profit from this month and have fun with the story, but it’s just not working out which sucks, I’ve been playing since June 1st and I only have about 142 KB bc of this

I wouldn't be so irritated about this one if we weren't told that 'encounter rates aren't adjusted with active quest' when we can reliably see commonly appearing quests disappear once they're active.

Like, it's not even the rate adjustment, just please be transparent with us and don't tell us things we can tell aren't true. Enough players commonly notice this effect that it's obvious there's adjustment. Even new players who are doing an event for the first time and haven't seen these threads have remarked they notice encounters disappearing.
