some titles are tied to karma -- you can find a list of where to acquire on this wiki page. Divine is tied to this month's storyline, if you side with Apedemak.

to prevent your titles from changing as your karma tier changes, you can lock titles at the Karma section on this page.

you can improve ("good") or reduce ("evil") your karma by selecting certain decisions with explore encounters. the overall change in karma points will not be visible to you initially, but you can use the Karma section snake I linked above to make a one-time purchase to unlock the ability to see these numeric changes (for example, it will start showing +1 or -1 karma after corresponding choices in explore). you can also gain or lose karma by sending lions to the nature reserve or killing them respectively, and there is a corresponding option with battle beetles.

karma affects what titles you can use on your current king and some of the encounters you'll see in explore.
