Yeah, I thought the dialogue was different this time. Originally, Apedemak was literally hitting on his daughter to keep his precious bloodline pure to create Divines. Like, dude.

Yeah, that was making people uncomfortable so it was changed to an arranged marriage, instead. Makes sense, too, Apedemak is a king and royal families always do arranged marriages, hardly any princess can say she married out of love.

Personally I didn't see an issue as Apedemak was inherently a 4th wall break- Lioden has no ingame consequence for inbreeding and a lot of people would breed their lion with offspring to increase the chances of markings and stats. Lots of breeding games do this, but Lioden is one of the few to include RP, which I guess makes the matchmaking feel more "real".

For those who don't know. Apedemak wanted to breed with Menhit to produce a rare base, but she was with Apollyon and he didn't want her to go to "a different pride". What made it weirder was how Menhit commented on her father being nice with she was a cub, so this sudden change terrified her.
