The tom looked down at the apprentice. Something told him that they would build up a good mentor/apprentice relationship and he was honestly excited to do anything with him today!

"How fast do you think you are, Hawkpaw? I challenge you to a little race in the woods, do you accept?"

A happy smile placed itself on the deputy's muzzle. Of course hunting and fighting was important to learn, but right now he wanted to see just how physically he was in shape. Perhaps they could get a daily routine in, keeping him fit. A fast warrior would be helpful to have!

Maplefern stopped when some of the mats were out. "And you never know, perhaps his spirit will visit you from Starclan. I don't think he would leave you like this." She continued grooming Cloudheart, gently unknotting the warrior's fur.

“Hah! Watch me!” Hawkpaw purrs and goes into a hunter’s crouch. With a flick of his tail he looks up at the deputy and waits for the tom to tell him to go. “Ready when you are Mintwhisker! I’m totally going to beat you!”

Soothawk peeked an eye open at the sound of a soft voice and looked over to see Palefeather He gave a smile. "Hi Palefeather! Yeah! The sun is great." He purred, rolling over onto his stomach and flicking his tail happily. "How are you?" He asked.

Cricketfall looked over at Lakefur, nodding a greetings. "I'm doing well. I'm worried about Cloudheart. Sharptongue's death seems to have really hit her." He meowed, looking over at the nursery in worry. Sharptongue's death was all of a sudden, and no cat truly knew what caused it. He could have fallen off a cliff or FogClan could have attacked him. All CliffClan knew was that one of their warriors were dead.

Patchwind studied the apprentice's form, quite impressed by how well and flowy it looked. She nodded. "Good job, Rainpaw." She purred, before tilting her head. "with a form like that, you must've caught something before, right?"

The dark she-cat narrowed her eyes as well, her previous agitation at the border rising again. "Just nonsense. A kittypet warrior by the name of Onyxcloud had no regard for our rules. Some other FogClan warriors arrived and seemed genuinely concerned that one of their cats were on our territory. Still, it bothers me that she was just so blatantly disregarding the warrior code. What is worse, is that she seemed very flirtatious towards Rivertail. I dont know what she is up to, but I dont trust her." Sharpcry turned her gaze towards the direction of FogClan. "In the end, I gave them a warning and they apologized saying that it wouldnt happen again...and promised to let Antstar deal with Onyxcloud. They know if it happens again they wont be leaving with all of their fur. I didnt want to cause unnecessary fighting now, but we should keep our eyes and ears open for any suspicious activities or overly friendly cats. Something about it wasnt right. "



Lakefur | CliffClan camp | Cricketfall

"Yes...i have heard" Lakefur frowned and wrapped his tail around his paws, thinking for a moment. His blue eyes clouded in sadness. Suddenly his leapt to his feet, his tail straight up behind him "Should we pay her a visit? I may not be a kit but I think i can do plenty well with cheering up cats!" he slammed his right paw into the ground and looked towards the nursery triumphantly.

Cricketfall tilted her head. "I don't know Lakefur, you really think we can cheer her up?" He asked, rising to his paws and turning his gaze towards the nursery. He didn't want to make Cloudheart even more upset. Sharptongue was her best friend and that could be hard to loose. He knew that Patchwind had lost her best friend, and that had caused her to not talk to most cats for a little while. He didn't want that to happen to Cloudheart, but he also didn't want to meddle and get her angrier. "I mean... I guess we can try?"

"Well, what kind of cats would we be if we didnt at least try?" Lakefur asked, his warm gaze on Cricketfall. "She may want to be left alone right now, but thats precisely the thing that has gotten her this way. Being left by one of her closest clanmates. Although we may not be Sharptongue, its up to us to try to be there for her. Im sure Sharptongue would be glad she is being looked after since he cant be here anymore" the large tom purred, his optimism shining brightly. "If Cloudheart pushes everyone away, itll hurt more in the long run." he added just for good measure.

Seeing Soothawk's smile, Palefeather's anxious thoughts disappeared. "I'm good," she responded with a soft purr. "I'm just glad everything's been peaceful for a few moons now," she added. She sat down beside Soothawk, her tail curling onto her paws.

"Kittypets," Newtstar muttered with a hint of a growl. He had never been fond of kittypets. They were soft and spoiled, and always relied on their Twolegs for food and shelter. Even for kittypet warriors, he could never trust them completely. He listened intently as Sharpcry continued. "Flirtatious?" he echoed, feeling the hair along his back rise. "How did Rivertail react?"

The apprentice got back up after the compliment. She smiled a large smile up at her mentor before answering her question.

"I wish I had but... only a couple bugs. Nothing actual like prey... Can you teach me?! Patchwidn I want to be the best warrior in the clan!"

The deputy chuckled at his apprentice's words. With a small flick of his tail he started the race first going almost full speed and then slowing down slightly to not demotivate Hawkpaw. He had to admit that the young tom was in quite a good shape! Probably because he sneaked out so much, he rolled his eyes playfully at the though.

Cloudheart | CliffClan Camp | Maplefern

The she sniffed, although she had wanted to cry forever the soothing grooming of the other cat was calming her down. Cloudheart slowly began grooming her fur aswell. Not getting much done because of how matted her fur had become but the effort was there.

"hmm..." Sharpcry paused taking a moment to recall how Rivertail reacted at the scene. "Thats the thing." she began "He didnt react. He was awfully quiet, and when we arrived, he seemed quite... friendly towards her. I wouldnt say he was flirtatious, but there is definitely something going on with those two. " she said, flattening her ears. She was disappointed. For a long time, she thought quite highly of Rivertail and was even getting used to his company. However, the warrior code was something very important to her that she worked hard to uphold, and disliked any cat who couldnt do the same, unless for very very special circumstances. And this was not.

Newtstar frowned as Sharpcry told him about Rivertail. He was fine with his warriors being diplomatic towards other Clans, but friendly? And with FogClan? Had he made the wrong choice giving Rivertail an apprentice? "Hopefully training an apprentice will remind him where his loyalty lies," he murmured, sounding disapproving. And Fernpaw can keep an eye on him.

Soothawk nodded and blinked sleepily. "Yes, CliffClan and FogClan have settled down it seems." He replied, looking over at Palefeather with shining eyes. He lifted his paw to clean in between his toes, giving a small yawn before beginning.

Patchwind nodded. "Alright, alright. I'll teach you." She purred. She rose to her paws. "Do you know how to catch a mouse?" She asked, walking beside her apprentice and crouching down to match Rainpaw's form.

Cricketfall shrugged. "Perhaps we can try. What do we do to cheer her up though?" He asked, tilting his head slightly as he waited for a response. As he waited, his mind ran with ideas of what to do to cheer the she-cat up. Perhaps they could put on a play.. or tell a joke... or be a therapist?

Antstar eyes Onyxcloud, his yellow eyes narrowed. "Are you sure, Onyxcloud?" He asked, "because you aren't showing much loyalty to me or to your Clan." The leader tried to stop himself from hissing, but it came out. He wanted to be more passive-aggressive rather than aggressive, and hissing was not the way to win Onyxcloud over.

Maplefern smiled as the she cat began grooming her own fur. "Don't worry. Soon the sadness will pass. And you'll always have the memory of him." She purred softly, letting Cloudheart groom her fur. "I can get you some aloe, if you want. To try and untangle your fur."
