As she headed out of the camp, Sharpcry thought she smelled someone familiar, but soon dismissed the thought as she heard Mountainsteps greeting from somewhere above her. A strange scent alerted Newtstar. He whipped around to face its source - the entrance of the camp. A couple other warriors were looking in that direction, too. Patchwind stared down at her apprentice, before nodding her head. “I suppose you wouldn’t know as you haven’t had a mentor for the past one or two moons. Alright.” She meowed, crouching down. “Now a mouse can feel your movements before it can hear you, so you have to be quick and careful.” She instructed, moving quickly around the floor as if she was stalking a mouse. “A rabbit on the other hand, which we probably won’t see much of., can hear you before it can feel you.” She said, rising to her paws and looking at Rainpaw.

Stormrunner felt slightly uneasy at all of the glares he was getting, although he expected it. He turned as an angry voice approached , and he was faced by a black tom with white paws and chest. He narrowed his eyes back at the tom, his mind racing as he tried to place a name to the face. His eyes widened momentarily as the recognition settled in. "Newt...whisker?" Stormrunner said, feeling slightly more at ease. He glanced down at Fernpaw. He assumed this must be the current leader, since Fernpaw led him to this spot. He cleared his throat. "Er..I suppose you must be Newtstar now." he corrected himself. " It is me, Stormpaw. Sharp..crys ...brother. My name is Stormrunner now."

Cloudheart was just crossing the camp opening when Russetleap came over to her. She smiled at him before answering his question.

"Maplefern was nice, she's doing well. I'm on the way to clean my pelt. You must have noticed the aloe in it. Care to join me?"

She asked while already slowly continuing to walk towards the exit of the camp.

Rainpaw | CliffClan territory | Patchwind

Rainpaw tried to copy her mentors stance while listening to her explanation. Her stance looked rather foolish and not nearly as neat as Patchwind's and soon she lost balance and flopped on her side. She let a small 'umpf' as the air was short knocked out of her lungs.

"But how am I supposed to sneak up on a mouse if they can feel before I'm coming?! It sounds impossible!"

Dapplepelt padded over to Antstar and dipped her head in greeting.

Newtstar tensed as the cat called him by his warrior name. How did this strange cat know? Then, as Stormrunner introduced himself, Newtstar's eyes widened with disbelief. "Stormpaw?" he asked, his voice full of astonishment as he recognized his former Clanmate. Newtstar had been a young warrior when Stormpaw left the Clan. "I thought you left RootClan," he said, a hint of accusation in his voice.

Palefeather nodded in agreement. The river was enjoyable for her, but was not quite her favorite. "Hm... There's this herb patch I really like. It's part of a small meadow, near the FogClan border," she admitted shyly. "Seeing it makes me know our Clan will be just fine."

“That’s good, the Maplefern part.” Russetleap walked over to catch up to the she-cat. “And sure, I’ll come.” He took a breath, knowing he was bringing up a difficult subject. “I’m sorry about Sharptongue. He was a great cat, and would’ve been a great father.” His red pelt shimmered in the sunlight, eyes looking down at his paws.

“Of course I know that! I told you that I didn’t want to start a fight, so I was being friendly. It’s not like I was interested in them, I just was trying to keep tension low.” Onyxcloud sighed. “I don’t get why that’s a problem. I returned the prey, and didn’t do anything bad.”

The puffy she's mood darkened for seconds, her eyes widening in panic and sadness. Luckily it quickly hid again, although not gone. She raised her head, looking into the distance while walking further into the forest towards where she knew a little body of water lay.

Stormrunner dipped his head. "That is correct. At the time as an apprentice, i let my emotions get the better of me. Seeing the forest our mother died in was just a disgusting reminder of her absence. I had left to find her clan and until now it has been well. However..." he trailed off, a pained expression in his eyes. "I have matured and thought a long time and came here to find my sister. She is all i have. I should have never left, but i was young. I would like to rejoin my rightful home of RootClan. But i completely understand if you have your concerns." Stormrunner hung his head. "I was foolish. Test me if you must, cast me out if you must. But at least I can say that I tried. And that I know my sister is alive and well. I wish to see her more than anything"

The she-cat was indeed impressed. Sharpcry slunk up the tree and crouched beside Mountainstep. "I may or may not be impressed" she meowed, a smile forming on her muzzle. "You learned quickly. This will be very advantageous to you if it ever comes to a battle." she gazed at him approvingly. For once she felt comfortable and her pelt wasnt burning with nervousness.

Newtstar studied Stormrunner for several long moments. "Very well. Sharpcry isn't in camp at the moment, but you can wait for her here in camp," he said. "There's fresh-kill available if you're hungry," he nodded in the direction of the fresh-kill pile. He wanted to ask Stormrunner about what the world was like outside of Clan territory, but decided against it. It would be best to appear authoritative until he was sure of Stormrunner's loyalty to RootClan. He turned and started walking away, and murmured to a nearby warrior, "Keep an eye on him."

"Well clearly she is not okay..." Lakefur said, thinking about how bedraggled Cloudheart had looked. "Lets go ask if there is any way we can help. Even if its something simple. I hate seeing a fellow clan mate so down." he started towards the nursery where the she-cat had been, but it appeared that she had left. Lakefur frowned and looked at Cricketfall. "Looks like someone beat us to it. Ah well, hopefully they will be able to help her!"

He hadnt seen his sister since he left as an apprentice, and they had a big fight that day. He wondered if she even wanted to see him...

A softer expression settled on her face as she continued tapping towards where she thought the body of water was and soon enough she reached the little puddle. Cloudheary moved closer to the water and slid in, now standing until her chin in the water.
