Hello,

I'm still pretty new to the game and I know I will eventually have to retire my king.
For clean heritage purposes do you think it's more worth it to spend the time and money to get a king reroll and customize/build stats OR buy/breed a submale to be kinged after retirement and just deal with the possibility of accidental dirty cubs?

I'd love to hear everyone's opinions, thank you!

you could always mut/heritage rep any lion if you like the look of a lion you have. to do that you can choose to king the lion you want to be king then in the retirement area you can choose the keep my current males appearance and choose the lion that you want to have the heritage and mutation of while still keeping the looks (base, marks, eyes, skin) of the lion you just kinged. to rep it usually costs 35GB total if doing early or if you do it when your king is retireable for free itll cost 25GB for the mut rep or if you wait 30 days ill cost 15GB.

The problem with rerolling and customizing is that "desirable" applicator features can be pretty expensive. Want a Merlot marking? 35 GB. Interstellar base? 50 GB. Whereas you could buy an Interstellar cub for maybe 8 GB? Haven't checked the market in a while. Cubs with a Merlot marking (and maybe some good other marking as well) could even be sold at fodder prices depending on the seller.

Plus, you can't get any breed-only traits starting from a rolled male. I love the raffle Celestial bases, so I wouldn't be able to roll my male :P Certain BO markings are also very appealing depending on what aesthetic you like to see on your lions!

Like Sedusa said, you can "mut/heritage-rep" your king after he gets his new appearance. It's how I have a heritageless Jellyfish (BO) king. Essentially you need a male groupie from the May event, and you need to re-retire your new king. You can do it immediately, which will cost a standard early retirement fee of 10 GB plus an early-early retirement fee of 15 GB, for a total of 25 GB. Or, you can wait 30 days after you king the heir to just pay the 10 GB. There's a dropdown menu that selects whose appearance gets to stay - make sure it is set to keep the appearance of your CURRENT MALE. The new king will keep his base and markings, and he will inherit the "heritage-rep's" stats, heritage, and mutation if he has one.
